President Obama Delivers Keynote Speech at Presidential Summit

US Department of State | April 27th, 2010 at 12:43 pm

President Obama delivered the keynote speech at the 2010 Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship on April 26, 2010. Speaking to an audience from over 60 countries, President Obama reflected upon his April 2009 speech in Cairo, where he sought to end the mistrust between the United States and Muslim communities throughout the world by starting anew with a relationship based on mutual interest and mutual respect.

President Obama said, “So, yes, the new beginning we seek is not only possible, it has already begun. It exists within each of you, and millions around the world who believe, like we do, that the future belongs not to those who would divide us, but to those who come together; not to those who would destroy, but those who would build; not those trapped in the past, but those who, like us, believe with confidence and conviction in a future of justice and progress and the dignity of all human beings regardless of their race, regardless of their religion.”
