Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience.
Our problem is that numbers of people obeyed the dictates of the tyrants and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience.
Our problem is that people are obedient in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity and war and cruelty.
Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country.
That’s our problem.
Everyone knows that the fire from a little spark will increase and blaze ever higher as long as it finds wood to burn; yet without being quenched by water, but merely by finding no more fuel to feed on, it consumes itself, dies down, and is no longer a flame.
Similarly, the more tyrants pillage, the more they crave, the more they ruin and destroy; the more one yields to them, and obeys them, by that much do they become mightier and more formidable, the readier to annihilate and destroy.
But if not one thing is yielded to them, if, without any violence they are simply not obeyed, they become naked and undone and as nothing, just as, when the root receives no nourishment, the branch withers and dies.

Belay, I will simply repeat Walua’s question: Are you happy about the situation in our country? Please do not narrow your vision and yourself around the Sheraton Hotel society only. We are Eighty million. Of the eighty millions a good portion of us are happy if we get one meal a day. Are you happy about that?
In the past, as much as I criticized (that can happen in the future too) certain views of Elias, I do at the same time appreciate his courage and transparency. Everything he does he lets the world know. Where by others might call the same activity “clandestine.“ We absolutely need someone like Elias who confronts all evils by calling a spade a spade. As an ethiopian i am tired of living the life of a slave to dictators. Not only the top man meles but the little puppets below him make my life ever more miserable. I hate being a slave. It is demeaning. In my own country i have a fear of the unknown. i fear that the dictator might eat me the next day, if he wishes so. I feel that i am at the mercy of the dictator. he can be cruel and unkind and i still have to love the dictator. i hate hate and hate being a slave. Yes, Kaleb is right. We must fight Woyane now and today. It s already a dead regime and we need only to give him the last blow. Histoty tells us that Ethiopians were once the pride people of this region. Thanks to Meles and his Woyane-gang, this not the case today. As a result, Ethiopia became a land of beggars and frustrated people.
Begging is the field of speciality for Woyane; they (as products of Tigray)have a long expereince in this regard. The rest part of Ethiopia was immune until now to such kind of sickness.
Our neighbor, Eritrea, is showing us the way how to develop without begging for food from others. For, it is always better to it a small bread which is your own than to eat a cake got as a charity. Let us remove these people from power and send them back to where they belong, so that we can feed ourselves. Ethiopia is known all over the world through hunger. This image must be changed.
