Fuze Meeting Delivers Real-Time Collaboration for the Mobile Generation

September 23rd, 2009 at 5:08 am |

Fuze Box, the leading global provider of online meeting and mobile collaboration applications, today unveiled the new Fuze Meeting, the latest version of the company’s popular web conferencing service, at the DEMO conference in San Diego. The new Fuze Meeting includes a number of dramatic mobile and ease-of-use enhancements, such as the ability to start and run meetings from an iPhone or Blackberry, invite contacts from popular online address books, such as Outlook, Gmail, LinkedIn, Yahoo! and share meetings via Facebook and Twitter.

Unlike traditional web conferencing and collaboration solutions like WebEx and GoToMeeting, Fuze Meeting is designed to support the dynamic ways in which people work and communicate today. Fuze Meeting is the first and only cloud-based collaboration technology to combine HD video and content sharing, social contact integration and mobile functionality to deliver a real-time visual meeting experience. More than just desktop and document sharing, Fuze Meeting allows companies and individuals to achieve breakthroughs in productivity while reducing costs and maintaining a people-centric collaboration experience.

New features in Fuze Meeting include:

* Host meetings from the iPhone: iPhone users can now schedule and launch meetings directly from the iPhone, upload media from the iPhone’s built-in camera and photo library and synchronize the content for all meeting participants. In addition, screen sharing and a full suite of media-types such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, images, photos, and video are supported. Leveraging the iPhone 3.0 OS enhancements, Fuze Meeting notifies users of IM, chat, and meeting invitations even when the application is closed.
* Fuze Meeting for Blackberry: Fuze Meeting brings mobile collaboration to Blackberry users, including high-definition video, document, and image viewing, IM, and the ability to fetch meeting participants into the audio bridge
* Universal address book: To facilitate online collaboration, Fuze Meeting now allows users to import contacts from multiple email applications, social networks and instant message platforms, including Outlook, Gmail, LinkedIn, Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL, then invite these users with drag-and-drop simplicity.
* Social meetings: With one click, Fuze Meeting users can now share links to their meetings in real-time social streams on Facebook and Twitter, allowing them to promote web conferences and other collaborative events.
* Enhanced high-definition presentations: Fuze Meeting now fully supports Microsoft PowerPoint animations, transitions and imbedded multimedia, with or without desktop sharing enabled.
* On-demand content availability: Fuze Meeting’s cloud-based service provides a persistent meeting container, enabling users to store meeting content before and after the meeting and make the content available on-demand to all meeting participants
* Skype integration: Skype users can now share presence and chat with other Skype users from within Fuze Meeting, and meeting participants can use Skype to join the audio portion of meetings.

“The recent wave of Internet-enabled devices and smartphones has dramatically changed the landscape and pace of business. Today’s professionals are ready for a new class of business applications that are as effective on the desktop as they are on the go,” said Jeff Cavins, CEO of Fuze Box. “Fuze Meeting is designed to meet the needs of this new generation of mobile users, including increased mobile functionality for iPhone and Blackberry users. In addition to the seamless interoperability between desktop and mobile, and the exclusive ability to host meetings from the mobile device, Fuze Meeting also includes unique integration with such popular social media platforms as Facebook and Twitter, creating new ways to experience community and collaboration. We are looking forward to seeing the innovative ways people will use Fuze Meeting in their business communications.”
