If you’re a Facebook and/or Twitter junkie who hasn’t quite found the best reading experience on the iPad just yet, you might want to take a look at a new free option called Flipboard, which turns your social content into a magazine-style experience.

MacRumors is reporting that late Tuesday night, a new iPad-only app called Flipboard entered the App Store, which promises to beautify your Facebook and Twitter content by making it look more like a traditional magazine.

“Flipboard is the world’s first social magazine,” the App Store description touts. “Your Flipboard is a fast, beautiful way to flip through news, photos and updates your friends are sharing on Facebook and Twitter. And it’s an incredible place to discover fresh content from around the Twittersphere.”

The Flipboard app gets its content from the user — or rather, your accounts on Facebook and Twitter — and then presents it in a whole new, stylish way, as you can see from the embedded video below.

“Designed from the ground up for iPad, Flipboard creates a magazine out of a user’s social content,” the company explains. “Simply launch Flipboard and flip open the cover to get started. From the Table of Contents readers can view their sections and personalize the magazine.”

MacRumors notes that the Flipboard app “does a good job collecting data and presenting it in magazine format” but notes that “early usage has been a bit spotty with connection errors, though we are assuming that’s related to high early demand.”

Flipboard requires an iPad with iOS 3.2 or later and is available to download now.
