The New IRiver P7 Stylish Portable Media Player Review
A lot of people in recent times have been searching for a reasonably priced yet worth-its-money PMP, but could the iRiver P7 fit this criterion?
The name ‘iRiver P7′ approached from the idea of the company creating new, innovative waves for the industry. It’s ideal if you want something slightly different form the common-looking models such as the iPod Touch or Sony X-Series Walkman.
The iRiver P7 PMP has a low-key design in white and silver, in an attempt to look smart and classy. However, the iRiver P7 PMP may attract quite a bit of dirt which is easily identifiable. The interface is not in a style that many of us are used to, but the menu is clear and everything can be accessed without any difficulty.
The touch screen responds well on the iRiver P7. The PMP also comes packaged with a control stick but there would hardly be any use to carrying it around all day as there is no ideal place to store it. The PMP will allow you to use a microSD card and will accept cards up to 8GB big, unless you’re willing to pay an extra £30, where you can expand the memory to 16 GB.
The iRiver P7 PMP has been designed with the most recent 3 plus feature. The software is simple to understand and anybody will be able to find the management of it trouble-free.
Another advantage of the iRiver P7 is the fact that files can be dragged and dropped from straight from a PC or Mac to the PMP. Only drawback would be the difficulty naming of the files.
The iRiver P7 PMP will play files which are in the formats: MP4, AVI, WMV and Xvid. As the PMP has a 4.3 inch screen, which enhances the video playback, which ran surprisingly smoothly and constantly in sync with audio.
The PMP is not exactly the best of its kind around as there just isn’t that little bit extra that we are looking for. For example, the iRiver P7 will look even better if there some vibrant colours to go with the unit. Furthermore, the sound quality is not incredible or natural-sounding as we would have hoped.
The iRiver P7 has a battery life of approximately 50 hours of music or 7 hours of video playback.
Other features of the iRiver P7 PMP would be the built-in FM radio and a voice recorder. You may also view photos on the large screen of the PMP. There is a lot of room for improvement in the iRiver P7 PMP, but right now it is doing reasonably well, so would be a respectable option for you to consider.
