The Sony Ericsson W995 Walkman Cell Phone: A Detailed Review

September 11th, 2009 at 1:42 am |

The Sony Ericsson W995 cell phone is stylish with its slider and is a combination of an 8MP camera and the most innovative Walkman player seen so far. Apart from the Xperia K1, the Sony Ericsson W995 is the first to use a headphone jack of 3.5mm.

The cell phone isn’t as classy as imagined nor can it be eligible to be named a ‘smartphone’. But the Sony Ericsson W995 has hauled itself out of the waters with the brilliant features it holds. A few of these include the GPS for easy navigation and the integrated Wi-Fi feature.

This Walkman cell phone is said to be one of the most solid yet striking phones yet. The Sony Ericsson W995 has strong and durable buttons which are easy to the fingers. Unlike the C905, the v cell phone is extremely slender and just as good – if not better. The user and menu interface is perfectly clear to the eye and hosts the usual Sony Ericsson style we’ve become accustomed to.

The music playback on the Sony Ericsson W995 cell phone is dynamic and has astonishing results. With one touch of a button, the cell phone will direct you to the music player which you can control in just the way you want. The Sony Ericsson W995 has a five way navigation pad allows you to do this or you may opt for the dedicated keys on the side of the cell phone. The feature ‘Shake Control’ will also allow you to control your music, but this does look slightly odd to strangers when you’re in public.

The 3.5mm headphone jack is another excuse for you to celebrate. However, to get the desired results, it would be ideal if you had your own pair of headphones. This is because the Sony Ericsson W995 cell phone comes packaged with pair that is good… but unacceptable to a phone which boasts about the sound quality such as this one.

The Sony Ericsson W995 is in competition with the Apple iPhone due to its Clear Audio expertise, ensuring crystal clear sounds to your ears.

Unfortunately, the Cyber-shot has not been replaced, despite what we all wished for. The Sony Ericsson W995 has the usual qualities but the cell phone has no Xenon flash or lens cover. Surprisingly, the picture quality of the could also do with some improving as they weren’t as clear as hoped for and the video playback did not run smoothly.

Nonetheless, the Sony Ericsson W995 is an excellent cell phone for you to get. It’s different yet just as good as its competitors and is something worth bragging about to your friends.
