Windows Vista Lite Rivals Windows XP

September 11th, 2009 at 1:31 pm |

There are many people who have heard about the Windows Vista Lite version. The thing about the Windows Vista Lite is that it has been evolving rapidly over the past few months. The installation ISO file has continually become smaller and smaller until one day it begin to rival Windows XP. The setup ISO file for the Windows Vista Lite version is small enough now to fit on a CD instead of the normal DVD. That means there are a lot of benefits to be had when you use the Windows Vista Lite version.

The biggest benefit from the latest Windows Vista Lite is simply that it fits on a CD. What does that mean as far as benefits go? Well that means you can buy an 8GB solid state drive to test out the speed of Windows Vista in comparison to Windows XP or Windows 7. Windows Vista Lite with a solid state drive will allow you to run the operating system faster than you ever thought you could. The 8GB SSD drives are the cheapest online. Many times the 8GB SSD drives can cost less than most normal hard disk drives for laptops. Even if you need more space for storage it is easy to just have an extra external hard drive at your house when you are not on the move.

With such a small file size for the installation ISO many of the ‘always running’ programs that slowed down Windows Vista in the first place will not be there in the Windows Vista Lite version. That means you will be able to enjoy most of the new features that come with Windows Vista without having the slow performance that makes everybody despise Windows Vista.

What is missing in the Windows Vista Lite edition? Well, most of the stuff that is taking out of the installation is stuff that most people don’t use anyway. When is the last time you installed an operating system to play the games that came with it? Most people would rather play games that they find on the Internet for free or games that they buy in the store. The games that come with Windows Vista are better than those that come with Windows XP, but they take up entirely too much space to be there unused. There will also be some other unnamed features that are removed that are for advanced computer users.
