If you spend lot of time online, then you may already know that there are different ways to set static IP for windows XP. Yes, there are many ways to do it, but I am going to show you the easiest way to set up static IP on windows XP. So this activity will no longer look like a big deal for you. Static IP indicates a permanent IP each time you access any application or website from the same computer.
By default, most internet service providers do not provide users with static IP address for windows XP, so you may feel the need to change the settings to static IP at some point.
To get started, click on the start option on your computer. Once you click on the Start menu you will find an option called Control panel. That’s where you will find the option to change the settings to static IP for windows XP.
After you click on control panel, by default you will find this option called classic view. Yes, you guessed it right. You need to change that option to something else, and that something else is “Network Connection.”

After selecting “Network Connection”, right click on over there for an option called Local Area connection. The next step is to select properties from the options that come up after the right click.
