Carol Bartz reflects on Microsoft bid: ‘You think I am stupid?’
Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz gave a lively interview to CNBC’s Squawk Box this week in which she described the company’s new search partnership with Microsoft and the future direction of the company. But it was Bartz’s candid response to a hypothetical question that got the most attention.
Asked whether she would have taken Microsoft’s original bid for more than $40 billion, Bartz said: “Sure, do you think I’m stupid?”
Bartz took over Yahoo in January after much of the M&A drama with Microsoft had already unfolded.
