Mobile Phone Review: Samsung I8910 Omnia HD
Looking at the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, its lack of 3G features may not make it the most popular phone for the mass consumer, but it’s certainly a mobile phone with amazing multimedia support.
Design
With respect to the mobile phone’s design, the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is quite the head turner. The physical cover, which either comes in black or silver, gives a very professional touch. Though the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is a bit larger and bulkier than other mobile phones, it makes up for that fact with its wide and very accessible wide touch screen feature.
The widescreen has an accelerometer, which allows the screen to immediately switch between landscaped and portrait mode when you turn the phone. You get a QWERTY keyboard for messaging with the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD when you turn the screen to landscape, while you get to punch in numbers with the mobile phone’s numberpad when you switch to portrait view. There are no problems with typing because the keys in both cases are wide and easy to click on.
Features
The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD’s 8-megapixel camera – with lots of features for enjoyable imaging experience – is just a starter for this mobile phone’s amazing multimedia support. Not only do you get to look at your pictures at HD, the mobile phone also features a MediaBrowser, where you browse through them easily and have the choice to send pictures in your Samsung i8910 Omnia HD to your friends or upload them to an online social network.
Images aren’t the only things that are in HD, because with the wide video format support of the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, you can also watch movies in HD with this mobile phone – an experience you can enhance even more with its equalizer, sound effects and visualization features, all set in an easy to use interface.
The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is also rich with office supplies. You can view Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files using the mobile phone’s QuickOffice application. You also get a wide array of organizing tools like the unit converter, PDF reader, dictionary, file manager and more – again, all at a very easy to use interface.
Again, since the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is not a US version mobile phone, there is no 3G support. But one thing’s for sure: when it comes to multimedia and other common smart phone features, the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is really tough to beat.
