Mobile Phone Review: Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560

September 13th, 2009 at 7:27 pm |

The Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 is said to be a tool which uses less power than other phones. This is actually a fairly new application to mobile phones. The SPH-M560 claims to be made from recycled plastic and as if to prove this, it is packaged in a recycled box. Moreover, it can be purchased for only $49.99, a decent price for the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560.

The design of the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 is regularly square shaped. It’s not as attractive as it looks, but the functions of the phone are great and comfortable. The Samsung Reclaim is host to a full ‘QWERTY’ keyboard and can easily be slipped out of sight. At first glance, the green colour may seem odd, but the colour of the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 does grow on you eventually. It’s also very unique, so those of you who don’t what everybody else has; the SPH-M560 would be worth considering.

With a 2.6 inch screen and a 320×240 pixel resolution, the display is quite bright, yet eye-catching. A toggle button in the centre of the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 makes it simple to navigate through the phone.

Surprisingly, the keyboard of the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 is actually easy to use, with enough room to manoeuvre your fingers.

Other features include the contact look-up which can store up to 600 contacts, plus the regulars of a present-day mobile phone – Bluetooth, text messaging, alarm and so on. Applications such as MySpace, Facebook and Google services can be used. To further uphold its idea of a green phone, the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 offers features such as ‘Green Guides’ or ‘Green Glossary.’

The Samsung Reclaim only has a 2 megapixel camera but can be chosen from five different resolutions and quality settings. The photos in general do come out pretty well, but unavoidably; there will be some blurred images. Pictures can instantly be uploaded to a Sprint album, MySpace, Facebook and more.

After tests of the dual-band, it was found that the Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560′s performance was up to scratch. With a fairly loud volume level, it is easy to hear people even if you are in noisy vicinity.

The Samsung Reclaim SPH-M560 rated high overall. It could do with having small improvements to its performance, but other than that, it is a decent phone which is more earth-friendly than many others.
