Sebhat Nega blabbers – Interview with VOA

The founding member of the ruling Tigrean People Liberation Front (Woyanne), Ato Sebhat Nega (also known as Sibela Nega), is interviewed by VOA’s Amharic Program on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Sebhat is no longer a member of the TPLF politburo, and he has recently been removed from his chairmanship of the Endowment Fund for the Relief of Tigray (EFFORT), a multi-billion-dollar criminal organization. Some informed sources say he was pushed out by Meles Zenawi’s ambitious wife Azeb Mesfin, who is now a ranking member of the EFFORT board. But Sebhat is still a member of the TPLF central committee and remains one of its most influential and richest members. His personal wealth is estimated to be over $100 million.   2. In the first place I would like to thank Addisu for his professionalism. I am an Ethiopian born from Tigray and Eritrean parent in eastern Ethiopia. Even my father was born same place with me. What does this old hyena talking? He is one of the prominent members of TPLF who divided Ethiopians based on their ethnic background. He has no moral capability to comment on unity of Ethiopians. He is a curse to our country. He is “kehadi” who betrayed the championship of Ethiopians who defeated Italians at Adwa. He is responsible for the killing and disappearance of many of my Oromo friends from their birth place and country.

Listen to the old liar, how he stole the wealth of Ethiopia, and they are telling us, effort has a resource in DC, a boat and if you sum it up it would not be reach even 20 million dollars, but now they have amassed billion dollars, by robbing the countries and they are telling us it is the Tigray’s property how a private company owns more than a country own.

    Acording to The previous Ethiopian commercial law the financial statments of companies are open to the public.The largest corporation in Ethiopia, according to Aboy Sebaht,Is owend by TPLF,the Party that rules Ethiopia with impunity with no concious of conflict of interet.Looters! EFFORT WAS THE PLUNDERING MACHINE tplf used;and he without shame told us tigray controls the ethiopian economy thanks to effort and the billions of birrs taken from com Bank of Ethiopia. Addisu could have pursued the effort questions very thoroughly.

  24. What he said about the investment in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia it is a lie. There was no any investment. If the caffeteria in Enekish is an investment it worths less than $5.000. No other investment was allowed by Saudi law. He is lying as they all TPLF use to do to be able to survive.     The EPRDF’s many weak spots

    With only a year to go until the general election that could replace
    Meles Zenawi in the post of Prime Minister, the Ethiopian government is
    still bogged down by serious security problems. In addition to sporadic
    activity by OLF and ONLF rebels that the army has not been able to
    completely bring to an end, the situation has also worsened in the Afar
    region.

    To that must be added the growing discontent in the Amhara community.
    Darkening the picture still further, radical Islamists are once again
    going on the offensive in neighbouring Somalia.

    Repeated incidents in the Afar region. In mid-April, William C. Athens,
    the head of the Afar Exploration Co, an oil company based in Tulsa
    (USA), decided to suspend the seismic study his firm was carrying out on
    its block in the north of Ethiopia, until security is re-established in
    this zone.

    Previously, several people had been killed or wounded when their
    vehicles had hit land mines in the Afar Regional State near Eritrea. The
    first incident took place on 10 April, about 80 km north-west of Lake
    Afdera in the Danakil depression.

    An American geologist working for Mobil / Exxon, Douglas Gratwick was
    injured while touring the Erta Ale volcano with a friend. Two or three
    Ethiopians (the driver and bodyguards) were killed.

    Two other vehicles were blown up by mines on13 April, south of Lake
    Afdera and the Chinese driver of one of them was killed. This second
    attack, also attributed to Eritrean backed Afar rebels from Ethiopia,
    targeted Chinese workers who were building the Samara-Afdera road, not
    far from the volcano Erta Ale (ION 1261).

    William Athens sent a report on the first incident to Ethiopian Ministry
    of Mines, calling for a military escort or for the Ethiopian army to
    secure the road. But none of this has been done.

    Amharas in the line of sites.Amhara discontent is an old problem that
    took on new heights when certain Amhara National Democratic Movement
    (ANDM) dignitaries such as the Minister Tefera Walwa began to challenge
    the supremacy of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) in the
    EPRDF governing coalition. Some ANDM Activists then even demanded the
    resignation of Bereket Simon and Addisu Legesse, Meles Zenawi’s two
    Amhara lieutenants.

    This resentment has created a breeding ground for opposition groups
    seeking to recruit supporters from within the ANDM, bringing the
    President of the Amhara Regional State, Ayalew Gobezie to carry out a
    veritable purge.

    In addition, many officers or Amhara civilians that have just been
    arrested for their alleged links with the opposition group Ginbot 7 led
    by Berhanu Nega which advocates armed struggle against the Ethiopian
    government, are, or have been executives of the ANDM or its ancestor
    EPDM, starting with General Tefera Mamo (ION 1261).

    General Asaminew Tsige, who had been dismissed from the Air Force at the
    same time as General Alemshet Degife (Oromo), is one of those arrested,
    as were his wife, a nurse in a military hospital and the Lieutenant
    Colonel Demisew former head of the security department of the Amhara
    Regional State.

    The wife of the Minister Tefera Walwa was also briefly arrested because
    she was the sister of Andargatchew Tsige, the Ginbot 7 number two.

    The threat from Somalian Islamists.

    Two and a half years after the Ethiopian military intervention in
    Somalia to drive the supporters of the Islamic Court Union (ICU) out of
    power, the situation is of concern in the peripheral parts of Ethiopia,
    near the Somalian border.

    In January 2009, Ethiopian troops left Mogadishu, making way for a
    “moderate” faction of the ICU they had nevertheless ousted in December
    2006. Despite his decision to introduce Sharia law in Mogadishu, the
    Somalian president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed is still considered too
    moderate by the Al Shahab and Hizbul Islam radical Islamists who are
    trying to wrest power from him.

    As far as the EPRDF is concerned, this is a kind of back to square one.

    The same causes have the same effects. The Ethiopian army could again
    take up in Somalia to secure the border between the two countries and
    prevent the expansion of Somalian Islamic theses in Southern Ethiopia.
    Meanwhile, Eritrean President Issayas Afeworki who is no stranger to
    this tragic imbroglio is rubbing his hands in Asmara.

The foreign investment was a pure lie. Even if they have, it won’t sum up to 1 million birr. After all they were damn communists and where did they get the idea of investing all over the world when they were crying for the help of weapons in Dedebit? He tried to fool us by saying EFFORT brought foreign currency to Ethiopia. A stupid lier. This is how they messed up other national truths as well. We know how they established Mesfin engineering and other effort companies. They took money from the Ethiopian Banks and Ethiopian Insurance. They forced AMCE company to invest in Mesfin engineering. We know how they estblished Mega. They took all the equipments of the old and very known Kuraz printing company. They accumulated by robbing. They are robbers. Let him tell this story to a 3 year old baby. Don’t worry rubbish Sebhat, we know where you brought the money. And we know how to claim it back to the people.

    This bullshit woyane is also saying that 70 million or more people should know each other. What a logic! Does he have a mind? I don’t have to know each and every citezen. What I must know is my country, mother land, and the others do the same and can meet up there at the common place — Ethiopia. So, he is going to Oromia, Gambella, south to know the people. Actually he is telling us that after TPLF becomes the biggest capitalist in the region and his groups are becoming billionaires, they don’t need the power. True capitalism doesn’t come by power and robbery but by free economic thinking and sound economic policy. So Sebhat,let me tell you one thing. It won’t be as per your foolish plan. You won’t go away by yourself but we will send you to your reserved place, which is Kality or we may creat another nice place for you very close to Dedebit where you contracted with all the devilish ideas that distructed our country. But you have time to clean your mess and make the future better. Resign now with your group and give power to the people of Ethiopia.

  30. I have listened to the interview ,Addisu has done a really job, and i also thank Aboy sebhat for his frank and who cares answer. He tell us that how they amass the property of ethiopia, they establish their construction company by legally dismantlling the ethiopian building construction, and they use the equipment and facility while letting go the workers empty handed they sell all the factories and use the money to build their own.

    Let alone investing in the country they do not have sanitary towels for their female fighters, shabaia used them to supply shoes and some stuff, even the tigrans do not support them and their diaspora, do not have much money and support at that time.

    But he clearly tell us that the property is tigrian , this never happen in the history of the country.Derg was very cautious in spending, and you can see how they accomplish with little money big projects though the projects took long period of time,

    If he talked about business in the outside world ,shabia, has a lot of experience while in the field but they do not have that money, but just for their supply of food and health, even derg can not have all that money to buy weapons he has to take loan from the east.   32. Mr.Sibehat probably had forgotten his audience. He tried to make a reason out of every challenging questions posed by the interviewer. Aboe Sibehat, I suggest that you better try not to fool yourself by telling us that TPLF is working according to its original program or document. I don’t believe for a second, thirty years ago, Weyane had imagined itself in its present position. The Ethiopian people is smart enough to know what you were,what you are and most importantly what you are going to be.

  45. For a first time interview of a high ranking member of the regime since at least post 2005 election, for the record, Addisu’s professionalism had covered some important points. His courtesy and subtle assertiveness is the kind that can encourage others from the regime to give an interview. The question on Assab is still open…? Well, at least the Ato Sebhat came for the interview and he stated his version.
