5 soldiers defect complaining corruption

November 15th, 2009 |  |  1 Comment

ASMARA — Police officers and soldiers under Ethiopia’s Woyanne regime continue to abandon their units and return to their homes, and many are defecting to Eritrea. This week, Ginbot 7 Radio has reported that 1,500 police officers failed to report for duty in the past few weeks. Today, Ethiopian Review’s correspondent in Asamara is reporting that 5 soldiers have recently defected to Eritrea.

The soldiers are complaining that there is no national Ethiopian army. The armed forces in Ethiopia are completely dominated by one minority ethnic group from Tigray, and the army is serving not the national interest of Ethiopia, but the interest of the ruling tribal junta.

The 5 soldiers who have just arrived in Eritrea are Corporal Berhanu Hailu from the Northern Command’s 21st Division, Corporal Tilahun Debula from Northern Command’s 11th Division, Private Bizualem Shiferraw from the Northern Command’s 14th Division, Private Kelila Hassan from the Nothern Command’s 11th Division, and Private Sisay Tesfaye from the Nothern Command’s 14th Division.

It is true and sad how Ethiopia has slipped into this state. I was speaking with my cousin Haile, the Col., and he told me first hand “There is no freedom in Ethiopia, that it is being destroyed by the ethnocentric regime in Addis (EPRDF/weyane). I feel that Ethiopia is heading towards the same fate as Yugoslavia and I can not be a soldier of a failed state and I will not help in its destruction. I want to save Ethiopia, the EPRDF, Meles Zenawi, Seyoum Mesfin wants to destroy it!” and then he began to cry and tell me more about the gross human rights violation taking place inEthiopia . He told me of houses in Addis used for torturing political dissidents and random people arrested just for being Amhara or Oromo or Tigrais who don’t agree with Zenawi’s ethnic policies. My fellow countrymen, it is no longer right for us to sit by idly in the West andnot take every effort to change the Government in Ethiopia to one that respects human rights, respects domestic, national, and international laws, there is no reason for Our Ethiopia to be involved in harming our citizens locally and abroad.

I personally have been attacked by weyane agents in an Ethiopian festival in Los Angeles. This is sickening and I for one will not permit lawless thugs from trampling on the Ethiopia that I grew up to love and respect.
I remember when that criminal Meles Zenawi referred to our Beautiful Ethiopian flag as “just a rag”! How dare he, many GREAT Ethiopian warriors died for that flag to remain and that filthy betrayer of OUR Nation dares to make a comment like that. Aside from that, the weyane Regime in Addis Ababa isnot national, it’s not even for Tigrai, it is clearly ANTI-ETHIOPIA, ANTI-TIGRAI, and ANTI-Democracy, Human Rights, and Economic Prosperity!

Ethiopian Review thanks for posting this article and letting the rest of us know of the crimes of the Tribal Junta led by Meles Zenawi!
