OLF Radio’s Amharic Service May 6 commented that the recent land “transaction” between TPLF and Sudan is a mutual agreement benefiting both regimes.
Sudan according to the commentary will hand opponents to TPLF and make sure its land including the one it was given by TPLF as a “gift” not to be used as a military base by TPLF’s opponents.
We have seen another deal between Puntland administration, Somalia and TPLF that resulted to the handling of ONLF high officials for exchange of guns. There was no land transaction between Puntland and TPLF this time because Puntland has no strong army to challenge ONLF. However, we can not rule out that possibility for the future.
The long term goal of the land “gift” to Sudan according to the OLF commentary is to plant a long term conflict between Sudan and Ethiopia mirroring the Badme “fiasco” which took the lives of tens of thousands of Ethiopians.
It went further and challenged all opponents of the regime to come together and remove this regime to detonate all the bombs planted inside and outside Ethiopia before it takes our people and country for a devastating conflict among ourselves and with neighboring countries.

Bravo OLF. Thank you for standing up for Ethiopia's territorial integrity, while other so-called 'pro-unity' groups kiss Zenawi's feet to enter his rubber stamp parliament and say nothing on this exteremely important issue.

The invading forces of the TPLF will do anything to stay in power, including giving away the sacred land of Ethiopia to the hihest bidder. Our artifacts and historical treasures have already been casulities of TPLF's carnage. Nothing that I can forsee will bring down an invader short of using an armed struggle, supported by peaseful resistance movement, the forces of which could obliterate and weaken the invaders in Addis Ababa. Peasceful struggle alone will never bring us peace and dignity in our country.

Every Ethiopian should be outraged by this hateful act. I am so disappointed, discouraged and outraged that this story is not fueling every one of us. I am not from Gonder, but this news has made me so upset just like that dark day of May, 15/ 2005. We have no time or excuse to sit on the side line and watch our land given away by a few selfish hateful member of one ethnic group. If this story do not bring us together and do something I don’t know what will. Ethiopians from every walk of life fought and died for this land. How could we sit and watch while our Ethiopian brothers and sisters loosing the land of their ancestors? This people have been living there for generation farming and raising cattle. I can only imagine the despair of this people when they removed them forcefully from the only thing they knew and loved.

I went to Ethiopia for the first time in 10 years. I visited various areas of the country and I saw acute poverty and general malaise which seems to have settled all over the place and will not go away for the foreseeable future.
But, But… I have never seen a place more completely destroyed than Gonder. It really is a site to behold. The city of Gonder which was once the pride and joy of the nation is in such disrepair I felt my tears welling up in my eyes when I first entered it. I don't think this land give away is a separate incident. From what I have seen, the destruction of Gonder is very systematic and probably will continue until the men from Gonder begin to have some sense of pride!

OLF is at last making me immensely proud. We Oromos are quite capable of making decisive contributions to unity, stability and genuine democracy in Ethiopia, the Horn of Africa region and the continent. I see we are now moving faster to claim victory as Ethiopians and our deadliest enemy Meles must scared to death.

You are becoming the real son and saver of Ethiopia. every body or so called freedom fighters were fighting to change the dictator or dictator from with in. I can see you stand for priciple and system change individual right. forget what woyane has designed all Ethopians to fight with each other in the name of national freedom and sucession. Be clear and objective, wide and all embracing, remember the sacrifice of the Amhara elites in their fight for land to the tiller. Their sacrifice has brought the life of the Oromo peasants to a better and remarkable status. Let we the Oromos pay these in a more positive way by bringing real system, justice respect to human right and integerity to the bigger Ethiopia in the real freedom context. Going to power by selling a country is easy but destructive. But not staying in power and talking the truth adds to the future of the country and your strength.
