According to a press release issued by National Coalition for Women Against HIV/AIDS (NCWH), the first lady was elected on the OAFLA General Assembly held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt from June 29 to July 1, 2008.

When will the so called oppositions press including ER stop writing a chronicle of the misdeeds of Melese, Woyane, and EPRDF! It is shameful that for 34 years, since the Feb. revolution, we have been hearing about the abuses of tyrants. We seldom hear on the achievement and critics of the opposition and the way forward. Most are now sick and tired of hearing that the almighty Melese or his second best has done this or that abuses to our people.

Azeb Mesfin is indeed from Wolkait. She was born and raised there. Her Aunt and sisters live in Los Angeles,CA and they go to Kidist Mariam church on slauson.
Her uncles and cousins live in Columbus,Ohio and she has many cousins in Las Vegas, Seattle and Michigan as well.
I found this out when I went to Los Angeles… Infact i met some of her family. Some of them are supporters of Meles Zenawi and some of them hate him to death.
They are Tigringa speakers and they do not deny that they are Tigrayans but they consider themselves Tigrays or Semien people from Gondar.

1. Azeb isfrom Wolqayit. Her father lies buried in Gonder (Medhane-Alem church, if I remember correctly).
2. She is the chairperson of the Social Affairs Standing Committee of the so-called parliament. As such, she is playing a ‘misleading role’ in the fight against HIV/AIDS in our country.
3. She was general manager of Mega-Net Corporation, the biggest “endowment” owned by TPLF.
4. She got a “degree” from the Civil Service College, famous for its endless “gmgema” sessions where professors are constantly harassed by the “students”.

Thank you for the detailed information about Azeb Mesfin and her extended family almost all over the United States.
Now I clearly understand it is the people of Raya-Azebo, Wolkait-Tegedie, and Semen-Armacheho who are ruling the country because of irredentism used by TPLF as a unifying factor, and at that the best political maneuvering Germany used during World War II.
If these are the people who are ruling or ruining Ethiopia, it is going to be an uphill battle for us members of the GINBOT 7 Organization to defeat such ferocious fighters by nature as the people of Raya-Azebo, Wolkait-Tegedie, and Semen-Armacheho.
Most of these people never even paid a single tax during the time of Emperor Haile Selassie; whenever the King sent a tax-collector, they shot him to death. For example, Degiazmach Adane Mekonen, governor of Wolkait-Tegedie had a hard time to govern these regions, but he managed to satisfy the people by not jailing the criminals even for one night. He simply sent them free, telling them he didn’t like to see them again. Next time they committed murder, he would tell the murderers to disappear from his face and go to the jungle and live there, and because of his leniency toward the criminals, the people of Wolkait-Tegedie liked him very much. His headquarter was in Tegedie, but he used to have one house at Debark, one at Dabat, one at Gondar, and one in Addis Ababa, and plenty of sheep and goats in Tegedie.
He was very unhappy when King Haile Selassie tried to create hatered between Wolkait-Tegadie and the Thelemt people by sending some selected people from Wolkait-Tegedie to Thelemt to catch some criminals and the Thelemt people to Wolkait-Tegedie to do the same thing. These people have been friendly to each other for centuries, and one cannot divide them and govern them.
The Wolkait-Tegedie people, mostly the shiftas used to stand at the main cross road and force every merchant to pay them money; other wise, no merchant or traders would continue their journeys unless they paid something to those shiftas.
The people of Wolkait-Tegedie are illogical, and one cannot argue with them and never convince them, and they always carry their guns with them. No wonder why the TPLF succeeded in toppling down the Mengistu regime because of these savage fighters who joined Meles and made him victorious. The Tegedie people had even taxed the Degiazmach Taye soldiers on their way through Tegedie to Wolkait; it seems unbelievable, but it is true.
