Federal Police savagely attacked a female reporter named Tsigereda Hailu on Friday at the court house in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa.

Tsigereda, a reporter for Rose, an entertainment newspaper, was at the court to cover singer Teddy Afro's court appearance.

After beating up the reporter, the police to her and a male journalist named Abrham Begizew, a reporter for Addis Neger newspaper, to jail. Both were released the same day after posting bail.

According to ER sources, the police attacked Tsigereda after accusing her of hiding an audio recorder in her purse.

The savage attack took place in front of other people who were at the court to attend Teddy's court appearance. Tsigereda was seen crying after the beating.

The court told Teddy Afro to return to the court next Friday.

Who cares whether the person is a woman, an old lady, an old man, a sick person, a young boy, a toddler, a baby, a reporter, a doctor, a student or a professor; Meles’ brutal soldiers control the whole country by actions of this kind: beating, maiming, persecuting, jailing, and killing. Such things are their daily hobbies. The Ethiopian people by now unwillingly must be familiar with the undemocratic and unacceptable behaviors of Meles’ Federal police. It is too sad to see our young ladies being abused and beaten up by their own government, not just by the wealthy Arabs.

In Meles's democratic Ethiopia, the police should protect civilians and should not side niether the ruling or the opposition parties. That is what we expect from a civilised and democratic Ethiopia ruled by Meles!!.

You know, why Meles is full of contempt for Ethiopians. He was heard saying "these are people who paid to collect the dead bodies of their loved ones during the dergue period" why are they making noise now?

Our inaction is what is giving him more courage to opress us. They will continue to humiliate us if each of us in our little ways do not take action now.

It is even becoming embarassing to write comments and articles about the atrocities that is being meted out on us.
What else are we waiting for before we can show some courage to these bunch of hooligans?

Have we become immuned to all the inhuman treatments that we are receiving? Ah, this is dangerous!!!!!
