The Obama Administration has requested Congress $583.5 million in assistance for Ethiopia’s genocidal junta for FY 2011, according to the U.S. Department of State, Office of Foreign Assistance.
This amount does not include grants and loans from other U.S. Government branches.
The U.S. Congress has not approved the budget yet. The new Congress under Republican leadership is well-advised to reject the budget request since most of the money goes into the pockets of TPLF junta leaders Meles Zenawi and wife Azeb Mesfin. The rest goes to buy weapons that are used to brutalize the people of Ethiopia.

The next costly gift after the $583 million to Meles Seitanawi (Zenawi) will be Obama’s oldest daughter to Meles’ youngest son in marriage. I think there is an awareness problem among Ethiopians or East Africans.
The donors’ wealthy nations of EU, USA, china and Japan and Canada have their own objectives why they give loans and spending.
It is their foreign and diplomatic policy. It does not matter whether an aid seeking nation is led by an angel or by a devil.
Ethiopia is not exempted from their policies.
Besides, it does not matter the US administration is led by black or white, or Asia is led by yellow or orange. They have their own farsighted objectives.
For this reason we(Ethiopians)in this case, should not wonder how they allocate their money.
Our problem lies merely on ourselves.
Namely;
a) We are incapable of challenging our own leadership in Ethiopia. Hence, it is our weakness.
b) We expect the solution of our problems be resolved by aliens.
c) We have little interest of uniting for the common good goal.
d) We pretend that the government of Ethiopia is an exotic creature, although we belong to the same country.

How naive some of us are! Some think that there will be a trickle down effect to the needy. President Reagan also believed in the theory of trickle down economy (wealth), but as has been seen that never happened.
Do you think that Meles’ corrupt salaried cadres (about 5 million now) will have the good will to give any of the aid to the poor? Not on your life! Also remember that those 5 million cadres have been told that each one of them has to recruit 5 members so as to increase the numberof cadres by 25 million for the next election. Besides, how are Meles and Azeb going to increase their stash in the UK, USA, Malasia and other offshore places, or have they all of a sudden become generous humanitarians towards the poor Ethiopian people. Does anyone really envisage that Meles would feel for the poor Ethiopians, seeing how they are being chased away from their small farm plots and not even being given adequate compensation for their land. We know Meles depends heavily on remittances from the Diaspora to families in Ethiopia, so aid given by the West would be even more advantageous to him. If the aid given by the West, (except for monitored humanitarian aid) were to be curtailed, it would accelerate the downfall of Meles Zenawi. It’s the West that is pumping blood into his veins keeping him alive, like Dracula, and preventing his downfall. I, for one object that my tax dollars are keeping a murderous tyrant in power for such a long time.
