Ethiopian National Transitional Council has been formed

ENTC leadership takes group photos at the conclusion of the Dallas Conference

Following a 3-day intense discussion, the Dallas conference has formed “Ethiopian National Transitional Council” (ENTC) on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012.

The conference decided that the primary goal of ENTC is to prepare conditions for creating an all-inclusive Ethiopian Transitional Government that will replace the Woyanne ethnic-apartheid junta.

ENTC is composed of representatives of patriotic Ethiopians from around the world, thus it is a council of people’s representatives. The conference thoroughly discussed how to get organizations, such as political and civic groups, involved in the process of creating the transitional government. It was decided to let the ENTC leadership start negotiations with the various stake holders, taking into consideration the suggestions and ideas presented by participants of the conference.

On the ENTC bylaws, the Conference decided the following:

1. The ENTC local chapters will be transformed into local councils.
2. The local councils will make up the ENTC general assembly.
3. The general assembly elects a 9-member Leadership Council.
4. The leadership council creates a secretariat with 10 departments.
5. The ENTC’s temporary office will be in Washington DC.

After writing and adopting the bylaws, the conference held an election and the following individuals elected to the top 3 leadership positions of ENTC.

1. Ato Sileshi Tilahun, London, Speaker (AfeGubae)
2. Wzr. Mekdes Worku, Sweden, Deputy Speaker (Mikitil AfeGubae)
3. Dr. Fisseha Eshetu, Washington DC, Secretary General (Wana Tsehafi)

On top of the above three, the following individuals have been elected to the Leadership Council:

4. Wzr. Ferehiwot Derso
5. Ato Munsur Nuru
6. Ato Ananios Kebede
7. Ato Dereje Demissie
8. Ato Abebayehu Alula
9. Ato Belay Woldemariam

The 3-day conference was televised live via video stream and broadcast live via two paltalk rooms.

A delegation of the Congress of Ethiopian People’s United Struggle, led by its vice-chairman Prof. Achamyeleh Debela, attended the conference and offered valuable ideas and suggestions. The Congress (also called Shengo) was formed recently in Ottawa, Canada, and is composed of over 15 political and civic groups.

Before the Dallas conference was formally adjourned, the new leadership went straight to work and made a series of decisions on budget, membership dues, etc.

The 3-day conference was closed with a brief remark by the renowned elder statesman and writer Ato Assefa Gebremariam and a swearing-in ceremony conducted by a young Ethiopian, Mikael Habtemariam.

  1. Good start and I am glad to see new faces in leadership positions. Unlike the other several political groups I hope this one will be serious about doing serious things.

  2. Thank god you have women in your leadership . You know what that means finally we have ethiopian opposition that will succeed . Great job Elias . Elias you know one thing I love about you, you have the utmost respect for women. God bless you and yours

  3. What about me? does this include eppf, olf, onlf, tpplf, opdp, ondp, grdp, rdfp, lplrs, TPLDM, …?

I hope it does, otherwise, it will be another new Midja? I hope this is different?

If you can make the chairman, I can join you immediately? if and only if you make the chairman of this new factions.

I will watch this organisation again. I hope it will not explode like Kinjit and G7 again?

Good luck guys; I hope you will remove Woyane and I can fly from Toronto to Bole in few hours? hoping you will not arrest me for background checking? My friend flew last year after 30 years ?but he was arrested for backgroud checking? The guy is from Tigray originally. He was asked to declare his ethnic identity? wow, after 30 years outside, I guess he forgot his ethnic. He told them he was not comfortable about it. But he was put in prison for night at the airport? the next day he was asked again. He did not have other choices but to tell them he is Tigrean. They did not accept his claim either. They asked him to bring witness? OMG, after 30 years kkkkkkkkk, his relatives has to come to witness his ethnicity? wow, they came in droves and then they set him free.

He came back to Canada. I said Hey, he was angry with me. kKK,he told me He will never again go to that bloody country called Ethiopia. He told me he is ill-treated by his country men? I hope you will not do that at air port to me?

  4. You see I am not going to say anything that may sound negative about this group at this time. But if they begin to start picking on any matter blaming any Tigrayan or the TPLF itself then I am not going to be a happy camper. I will wait until I see their official announcement. They better not push us too far. I will not also be on friendly terms with them if their proclamation does not begin by gushing out phrases after phrases of gratitude to our fallen heroes who freed them from the unbearable yoke of the blood thirsty Mengistu regime. They should also remember that Tigray will not need them any more now in general and after 2015 in particular. Our long lost golden era and tradition is back. Tadjourah is back doing brisk trade with the Land of Sheba!!! Ladies and Gentlemen, Axum has risen from ashes ever mighty, ever glorious!!! Both the Sun and Moon are rising, shining and setting on my beloved Nation of the Glorious People of Axum!!! If this group makes its daily chores the business of hurling unfounded innuendos and hateful insults at people like me who hail from the Nation of Tigray, then we will not be left with any other choice but to go on our own. And we cannot be held responsible if others also start going with their own cribs. Don’t take me wrong. I am not against their forming a group but it will be to their advantage if they start working with parting like ANDM, OPDO, SNNPR, ANDP, SPDP and others in EPRDF.

    Tekle replies:

    You Jegnaw:

You have been using the word ‘fumigated’. Using such sinister word behooves you to explain yourself as to what you mean by that.It connotes the ruthless killing of people from a specific ethnicity by throwing them into cyanide filled gas chambers. Everyone wants to hear your explanation.

    Jegnaw replies:

Tekle my termite Axumit want to be.(by the way go read about AXUMAIT history….. you or your kind are not the Axumit)
OK now for your question as follow.
I think it is better to show you than to tell you.give me your address i will personally show you what i mean.and i will gladly wait for your answer Mr.Tekle and i don’t need audience.

    abdi replies:

Hello TT( Tekle Termite) well come back to the real free web site of Ethiopians. Say thanks to Elias Kifle. Our brothers were put in jail by your banda master in Ethiopia and here you are opening your garbage mouth. Even my friend from Adigrat thinks you are the stupidest person he has ever seen and he thinks you are not from Tigray because he says at this time when other Ethiopians are very suspicious of the people from Tigray no person from Tigray would like to talk like you because it is garbage with no purpose. And may be he is right. If you are not from Tigray and you are talking like this so that Ethiopians will be angry at the people from Tigray you are a shameful little mouse.

    Dagim replies:

    @Teklie,
I beleive those who were axuminte are almost stationed in the center of Ethiopia. I am from Axum, I knew very well my history or Genelogy. But I don’t think you guys are.
Just because Bretain and other westerns helped you to have power to attack and distroy our history doesn’t mean your anscestors where there. Even you don’t know your history. Who is meles and his followers? may be the northern Africa namads, probabily. It is just envy on us, but you eat your body nothing else. We are with God not with western help and every thing will be arranged accourdingly.
    wait and you will see

  5. Has the Transitional Council got a new web site?, this must be set up immediately and discussions and publicity continue immediately. on practical matters, the Transitional Council must immediately start diplomatic and political campagign to register support from the international community, particularly the USA and Europe and should be ready for government. It is expected that all the political opposition groups operating inside and outside Ethiopia will be part of the coalition.

One would imagine that as a transitional council’s main duty would be to lay down the foundation for the broad democratic framework in which a free and fair election takes place in our country, in the first year.

  6. As I repeatedly said before I am so happy to see my country men and women coming together to work for the benefits of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. Hoping that it should not be taken as criticism as a woman myself I would have liked to see two more women to make the total leadership group eleven. But there must be a valid reason. I like to congratulate all who worked so hard to materialize the goals of the organization. Dr. Fisseha you did a great job.

Having said that there are a few things we should all remember while working together collectively in organizations like this one

one….. there needs to be a common interest, a defined unit in which people come together to make joint decisions about certain matters. To some extent the members must be able to rely on and identify themselves with each other so that they are prepared to agree in advance to abide by the joint decisions. Some form of collective identity is required so that members see themselves as a ‘we’. Such a community rules out the anarchic alternative.I think you guys have passed this stage already.

two…..Having rejected some form of anarchy in favour of democratic rule, we can proceed to two other basic principles of the latter. One is the principle of everyone’s equal value, which can be formulated as a demand for equality: the interests of each and every member merit equal consideration. That means each individual member’s interest should not be ignored or rejected without proper process of accepting or rejecting the idea or the interest. No type of discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, wealth, education, friendship, and age should ever be allowed.

Three… last of all but not least is that the individual member should also be ready to accept not reject the decision made by the others. This is one of the most popular causes of failure of many organizations specially the ones formed in Ethiopia. Some members get offended if the majority rejects their ideas and start forming their own ” like minded friends” in other words forming their own clique which eventually undermines the authority of the executive body and weaken the pillars of the organization in general.
Human beings naturally find it hard understanding the difference between equality and democracy. They are two completely different entities.Democracy has power engraved into it. Democratically elected individuals have the power of executing the decisions made by all and all have the responsibility of applying their own decisions because they democratically have elected their leaders with equal power. So not obeying the rules of the power does not mean you are exercising your equal rights rather you are breaking the democratic principle of collective decision making. And leaders, you are not better than others morally or intellectually to exercise your authority over them. You are not judges or guardians of the other members. What is expected from you is loyalty, hard work, commitment, and discipline.

Work with other organizations, be humble and listen and learn. You have taken a responsibility of leading the people to power and democracy. Talk to all countries that are friendly with the current government and represent your people without fear, serve all of us with favor.

Good Luck, I wish you all the best. It is not your name that will get you accepted by the people but you deeds.

God Bless Ethiopia and her true children.

    Shetaye replies:

I apologize for the typo in the last sentence in the last third paragraph should be read as ” serve as without favor”.

  7. A good move. I also suggest the top leadership position should also include prominent Oromo individuals to dismantle the woyane ethnic propaganda. The next government in Ethiopia can only be the government of the majority-represented by Oromos and Amharas.

    Mebrat replies:

Sami, we are not playing the same game of dividing Ethiopians based on Ethnicity. We should not care much what Woyane thinks, they started this story of dividing the people. Who ever is capable of leading should be a leader of the country, Tigre, Amhara, Oromo, Somali I don’t care as long as he or she is Ethiopian and elected by the people.

    agaa replies:

    Sami,
in the new Ethiopia, merit is what matters most. People serving in any position should be selected on the basis of their ability to do the job at hand regardless of their ethnic, tribal, clan origins or political affiliation. that is what freedom, democracy and justice is all about.

The woyane ethnicist fascist junta has given 99% of the military leadersip of the so called Ethiopian defence forces to its own TPLF ‘tegadalay’ or their family members. The TPLF politbureau have total control of state power. The judiciary, the police, the media, the economic structure is under the control of the TPLF politbureau set up to serve TPLF. It is an ethnicist dictatorship which has excluded every member of half decent Ethiopian society from taking part in the affairs of the country.

The woyane system has been designed to serve their own circle or group.

    peace replies:

    To Sami and Mebrat,

You are both wrong and right. This is the issue we Ethiopians should really be cautious about the ethnic issue whether the majority should rule or not. By the way congrats to the Council formation and I do hope we are evolving to maturity, wisdom and transformation. Back to the issue of majority and ethnic rule. There are two forces right now that are undermining eachother. Those who beleive the problem with Ethiopia has always been ethnic domination even under past regimes AND the other force is that no, it is not ethnic issue it is leadership issue past and present. Because it is hard to find data and stats on the sentiments of these two forces, we will never know the true sentiments of the Ethiopian populous as a whole what the true problem is and has been in governing. There are those who still refuse to believe that there hasn’t been a problem in the past but Weyane is using ethnic issue to rule over Ethiopia. There are those who believe otherwise saying the past has been part of the problem and is still continuing. Unless these two forces come together and discuss such issues the problem will continue to exist and could even weaken the council or future governing. Why I say that? Is because let us not take for granted or undermine the sentiments of groups of people that believe in the two forces I mentioned above. Ignoring this is like going back to square one. Add to that elements from TPLF and foreign groups will infiltrate the council or the unity of Ethiopia for their own agenda and domination. We are at vulnerable moment “Enquan zenbobish endewim teza nesh”. With all negative forces around us and Ethiopia, we even contribute to our division and disunity because we refuse to grow up, to have wisdom. Ethiopians have never been disuinted as they have today. So we should work on what makes us same rather than what makes us different because we are bound by the save geography, culture, tradition, environment. Again let us emphasise on working on how to make this council more INCLUSIVE but at the same time this should not be place where extreme thinking and radicalism to thrive. In reality, the Council should be by merit rather than by ethnicity, nepotism, religion etc. However, it should be diverse to bring in experts in governing. For instance when I say experts, one doesn’t have to be in politics if he knows well of the hisotry of ethnic groups throuought Ethiopia. Because from this person, we can learn about the needs of ethnic groups in Ethiopia, so on.

    Good luck

    Sami replies:

    mebrat,agaa:
my friends if you go by merit and experience woyane/tigrayan elites will handily win the game. Woyanes have been sending their smartest boys and girls to the best universities in the world at the expense of other Ethiopian nationals for the last twenty years. They have dominated all the major public and private managerial positions as well as top international diplomatic positions, learning on the job and gaining vast experience.
There can not be a true democracy where one ethnic group dominates because governance and loyalty will always go hand in hand. If you think putting well qualified Amharas in Arat Kilo palace will change anything I will not buy it. Back to my point, if the opposition is dominated by Amharas the woyanes can easily play the ethnic card easily-they will tale the Oromas that they are coming back to re-subjugate you.The only way I can see the end of woyanes is Oromo led-Amhara supported (majority dominated)struggle.

    peace replies:

Very well said Sami. You understand well. Yet, we even understand this and how is it opposition parties don’t get this and avoid this because there will still be complaining that Amaras will be marginalized as well. Why didn’t OLF (which is already and has extreme view of Ethiopia and Amaras) did not join CUD because they complained the majority were Amaras in the party and it was great blessing for TPLF. In 2005, when TPLF lost, it sent its delegates to Minneapolis and Germany to see OLF members tricking them once again by convincing OLF not to be part of cUD and it is Amara dominated that TPLF will leaver the power only to Oromos and OLF. OLF was already complaining on CUD in the first place. They watched and did nothing when 200 people were gunned down on the streets of Addis and still OLF was complaing about Amara bla bla. So That is why I push the majority Oromos to form their own parties (which is hell for TPLF) so that they can fully participate in Ethiopia’s issue rather than being by standers as OLF is doing and expecting if arm struggle doesnt work and take by force, they will sit down in the West collecting their Welfare for another 40 years watching Ethiopians as aliens and different from them, in the mean time Oromos plight is increasing. Today, OLF is dominated by another narrow minded group, most Muslims supported by Egypt making themselves more isolated from Ethiopia’s society and dividng Oromos and other Ethiopians especially Amaras away from eachother so that no coexistance thrives. They are just sitting waiting for orders from TPLF, Shaebia, Arabs and West hoping these groups one day will hand the power to them. I support the power of Oromos and governing but not OLF. These group by now have drifted apart from the rest of ethiopians, even from Oromos, they can’t solve Ethiopia’s issue as a whole. Their bet is only on the outsidrs and Liberation Fronts hoping one day they will take power.

Sami, that is why I said, in reality by merit will not work because of the advantage of the Tigrayans they have today. In the past most who occupy top offices have been Amaras although many oromos have also been in volved mening we could say, 3:2 ratio. Today it is 2:0 ratio. Education stystem in Oromo and Amara region today is really backward compared to Tigray region. This will give advantage to Tigray. That is why I said therefore that by merit should be included the knowledge one has about for example the true hisotry of Ethiopia and its ethnic groups, those who have the traditional talent in conflict transformation, etc. those should also be included in Ethiopia’s governing. In the first place, if by merit could mean only by professionalism, then we will be promoting another elitism. So, the council and Ethiopia’s governing should be based on the natural talent you have, professional, and so on from all ethnic groups

  8. Dear Shitaye,

You raised very important issue.I hope you will see your anticipation sooner. I hope they will not disappoint you again.

I actually recommend the central committee of this new faction to be made up of 6 men and 6 women or more women. I am seriously on this. we have seen men in the past 21 years; We really need to give more space for women now; We need different soccer field and we need different soccer players. I am tired of angry men.

  9. shitaye
All points are good but one. The failour of organizations in Ethiopia is more to do with not respecting the rights of individuals to not accept the majority view than individuals accepting the majority view. No one should be forced to accept any once view. Individuals should be free to oppose any view at any time. To organize opposition to any view either a majority or minority. It is the lack of understanding of this principle for a well functioning democratic system that is forcing people to use undemocratic means to.impose their will. wheather in the name of majority or otherwise.
This should not be confused with implementation of descitions taken democratically. They will be implimented as long as they have the support of the majorjity and fallowed the proper procedures any way. But that does not mean those who oppose the idea should stop opposing it and the system has to allow them to be able to reverse it by the same democratic method. If some one blocks all the avenues in the name of majority for some one to peruse an idea that one belives deeply to be true, the only cource of action remains for that person is a violent rebellion that takes down the whole house. That was what was happening to Ethiopian organizations and Ethiopia in general.
If this new effort has to be successful it has to accommodate opposition to all of it’s ideas within itself. If it wants to implement a tyranny (of a majority or minority) it will fail like all it’s predecessors.

    mengesha replies:

beles you and Shitaye are on the same page. What she said is also the same as you said. The majority should not reject the individual members idea or opinion without a democratic process. But once that process is exhausted their is no point of that individual to rebel against the decision. Once the decision is made by all it is not necessary to reverse it unless the majority think they made a mistake.
But an important point here is as you said the majority should not impose decisions on the minority or an individual. A decision making process itself must be a democratic process.

  10. Dear Shewaye,I have a book at home Amanuel Kunt’s nice ideas, after I finished reading it,I was full of awe,the cover of the book is white,it explained what the republik of Plato in a beautiful way, like what you have written in your article too,we have to think possitive and hope for the best,I once read of the old Axumites, some of the kings were so good and the people see them seldom, once in a year some thing and thay say they were good looking and when the people see them, they fall to the ground to show how much they love them, now we are living in another era but like Amanuel Kunt wrote it is possible. Some one said to me once you can lead your country,be brave to be or not to be,I pass this word to you and other honest Ethiopians,I will like to advice Tekle too,be of possitive mind like Shewaye, thank you.

  11. Very good! I think this is exactly what Ethiopia needs. You are what Ethiopia has been waiting for. Just add to the list of leaders the following tested leaders:
    1. Guad, Abyotawiw, Koratu, YeEthiopia Ye Kurt Ken Lej, etc. Colonel Mengistu Hailemariam,
    2. Guad Legesse Asefaw, and
    3. a few other killers and murderers

    Fasil replies:

you are trying to be funny or you are a moron? That is all i can say to morons like you no more words.does this look like a joke to you?

  12. Important:

I will wait to read your manifesto. I hope you will disappoint e in the followings:

    1. The issue of Eritrea, the issue of Massawa, Asseb? I need very clear message, I do not want to hear if , but on this issue from my side. I wana hear an honest and clear position how you will deal with this honestly. You need to tell us about it in an unequivocally way. Do not tell us you will ask UN? beg Eritrea? or … or you will worship colonial agreement? if you really wanted to get loved by Ethiopians, you need to reject any colonial legacy that pertains to Ethiopian. Colonialism was evil and still making us bleed and we now need to completely blot out anything that colonial trace or legacy that divided our people. You need to stick to the Ancient land mark of Ethiopia if you wanted to be appreciated and if you want to claim you are the restorer and rebuilder and revisionist of Ethiopia.

    2. You will need to tell us how you will implement the existing Federal system?

    3. You will tell us what language we will use as Langua Franca? Meles Zenawi wanted to replace amharic by english so that English can serve as a neutral langauge? I am against english into Ethiopia.

I personally favour Geez language to be language Franca or neutral language for all languages. I do not hate amharic personally, but I had even the belief it must stay as national language. But I personally now have to believe we need neutral langauge that can serve all people equally with ethnic influence in it.

    4. The education system: The education system we have is wrong. We do our demostic affaires in local langauges 100%, but we have overlooked ou language and focused on foreign language english. We spent our entire life studying english vocabulary? The education system does not promote Ethiopian development,Ethiopian entreprenuership. The education system encourages migration and brain drain.

We do not translate Technology to local langauge and we do not put into practice what we learn in english. We need to develop our language and translate Technology to local language like the Chinese, Japanese, and … and make Technology accessible to the 91 million people. Now the education system has blacked out the entire nation from modern Technology. To be innovative? you do not necessary need to go to University. Some people are talented and they can become innovative and entrepreneurs even by reading themselves if the Technology is accessible in the langauge they understand. If we translate Technology books into local langauge, you will make Technology accessible to the 91 million people and we will have 91 million people as pool of possible entrepreneurs instead of 100, 000 students who go to University which is still english and have hard time to understand.

But the last but least, please stop any ethnic politics, suggest your strong supporters or leaders must be based on merit instead of ethnic. If this is new faction is dominated again by one ethnic, it will fail again like the rest.

    5. Please rotate leadership role either every two or three or four or five year, please do not sit there for many years like Gulcha? haha, I am serious. You see Dr. Berhanu is still the chairman of G7? Democracy has to start early .

    Jegnaw replies:

    Gezaee
I think you should go ask your TPLF family member about Eritrea and Assab,Masewa what happened why Ethiopia is the way it is now? if it was not for CIA and ELF you would not be in power today. the problem of Ethiopia is TPLF nothing Else.so Gezaee keep barking and no one is listening to your fake ass Ethiopian want to be.

    Jegnaw replies:

    Gezaee
Melese and your TPLF buchilas are the GULICH just to remind you Mr. Gezaee in case you have forgotten.GULICHAS for the last 21 years.let me heir you say that Gulichas for 21 years.bravo gezaee.

  13. This is good news for Ethiopians who are suffering under the hands of TPLF leadership. Over all this is good for a start and needs to be nurtured and supported. And the critics need to hold in check their wild imaginations about this council. You will be ill advised if you try to judge this council by pointing out the ills of that of any of the defunct political organizations. Each stands on its own merit.
Now, the major task of this council is to make a soul searching effort and put the ETG in place. That means it has to launch a search up and down the whole breadth of the country for exceptional citizens that will be possible candidate for the transitional government. I want to emphasize here, the application of Stringent measurements and criterion, in recruiting members, can make or its absence will break the effectiveness of the transitional Government. Therefore, it is crucial such formula be used to measure up candidates. I mean character, integrity; patriotism should be used as measurement than any other qualifications. Final word, you guys are free to leave behind or not to consider for inclusion all polarizing figures.
God bless the nation and her hard working sons and daughters.

  14. Everybody wrote: good job, congratulation, great move….
Ethiopian National Transitional Council” (ENTC) ? Only the Amaras? What about Oromos and other parts of Ethiopia? You ruled Ethiopia for more than 100 years and that country never been more than the last 10 poor countries in the world and the example of famine and misery, even though it has plenty of natural resources . Even your “Phd” think the same way, you wanna return “teklay’gizat or kiflehager” and everybody learn ha, hu again? You are dreaming an expensive dream my friend. We need English as a national language like India and every one can use their own language locally. You guys can use your Amharic for the church also. Be open minded and work with Oromo and stop you toxic mentality. If you don’t wanna work with Oromo honestly you are actually helping woyanes. We need democratic government for all which is free of hidden agendas.

  15. Whenever you guys say something I look into it if I get something for me out of it. I am speaking not only as an individual but as a nation, why not, I am just like those ENTC claiming to represent poeple as far as my ideas are in other’s people mind as well. Please do not fool yourself, if there is no any better advantage for oromo in your grouping, oromo will keep the current government for life. If you have some thing to better the existing advantages you may get the heart of us, oromos, if you are planning to reverse the fruits of struggle achieved this far, do not lose your money, mind and everything. You will never achieve that. This is a clear brotherly advice, try to include in your plan and talk what Oromo can get, or expect to get from your organisation. Unity? We had it for many years, but did not work. So think and rethink before you come to people. I am hoping that Oromo people is one of the poeple in you concern. I have the same feeling for other nations as well, Tigray,Somali,Sidama etc. You can not just ignore or cannot reverse their struggle and their achievements to democracy and self rule. These people like to rule themselves and like to live equally with others if the condition permits. You must try to bring that condition in. Therefore you need to discuss with them, set the goal with them and work with them to achieve those goals. If you try to work alone, your fate will never be different from the past rulers. Sorry this is just for your information. I like to be Wayyane than, Kinijit, G7 or the likes. This is true for many Oromos. Bye.

    Anonymous replies:

Do not worry, somebody will come knocking on your door to discuss what your needs are.

  16. Thanks for all commentor. I think we are maturing now. See how the comments are good, I am sure the concile memebers will peak the issues and incoporate in their manefisto.

  17. The desire to bring change in Ethiopia is there, but there is no commitment to do it mannually. Commitment includes dedication of oneself in all means, physical and financial. TPLF came to power because it had a decicated group of people ready and willing to die for their stand. The only way out is to show TPLF that Ethiopians are ready to die for their cause, face TPLF soldiers head on. Unless you force your enemy look twice by refusing to move over, he will never respect you.

Meles Zenawi was terrified of being removed in the May 2005 uprising, his generals were ready and willing to go back to Tigray, but the Ethiopian people blinked first. TPLF learned a valiable lesson then, all they have to do is kill a couple hundred civilians and lay their bodies on the streets for everyone to see. Ethiopians like Yemenis and Syrians need to overcome their fear of death, in order to remove the ruling class.

  18. Important: Edited!

I will wait to read your manifesto. I hope you will not disappoint me in the followings:
1.The issue of Eritrea, the issue of Massawa, Asseb?

But I personally now have to believe we need neutral langauge that can serve all people equally with no ethnic influence in it.

    4. The education system: The education system we have is wrong. We do our domestic affaires in local langauges 100%, but we have overlooked our language and focused on foreign language english. We spent our entire life studying english vocabulary? The education system does not promote Ethiopian development,Ethiopian entreprenuership. The education system encourages migration and brain drain.

We do not translate Technology to local langauge and we do not put into practice what we learn in english. We need to develop our language and translate Technology to local language like the Chinese, Japanese, and … make Technology accessible to the 91 million people.

The last but not least , please stop any ethnic politics,I suggest your strong supporters or leaders must be based on merit instead of ethnic. If this new faction is dominated again by one ethnic, it will fail again like the rest.

    5. Please rotate leadership role either every two or three or four or five year, please do not sit there for many years like Gulcha? haha, I am serious. You see Dr. Berhanu is still the chairman of G7? Democracy has to start early .

    Jegnaw replies:

    Gezaee
there will be an Ethiopia for all Ethiopians nothing more nothing less.

    Getachew replies:

“I personally favour Geez language to be language Franca or neutral language for all languages”……” We need to develop our language and translate Technology to local language like the Chinese, Japanese, and … make Technology”
Oh really, how could possibly think that way you imbecile rubbish? How could you compare English with Geez and Japanese with Ethiopia? Don’t make me laugh, you really don’t know where you are. You are from extreme poorest country in the world where people couldn’t get food even one time per day. English is the only way.

  19. Reply To Gezaee, nice questions and nice idea, but like you read what that person who took the name Jegnaw in this forum, many are still back warded, first let us clean our own house, send the present government and all they represent away and for good and then talk with peaceful Eritreans and convince them that Ethiopia with her Afar people need the port of Assab, respect, give and take, there are many dinamic Eritreans now fighting against the dictatorial and anti Ethiopia regiem in Asmera,Meles is a selfish person with no knowledge, not every body can make history,Gezaee, you are a Tigrean, are you not ashamed for them, they gave Assab away, they live in the Minilik palace and they have money as much as they want and they are telling us that Ethiopia is progressing,I do not want to use bad word but they are–,most people I hate Meles, the Areb billioner and Esayas, they have no respect for history and love.

    The Ethiopian replies:

    T.geberegzi
What do you mean?” Ethiopia with her Afar people?” are Afar people are not Ethiopian like any all Ethiopians?or are you making destruction as if Afars are different from the rest of Ethiopians. pleas explain..

  20. I am not saying the Afar people are not Ethiopians but do not forget the Italians had all the chance to occupy Ethiopia starting from Assab because the whole area was moslimand for the new king who was religious very difficult to penetrate,I believe 100 percent that they are Ethiopians only we need more understanding, the mother of ras Gugusa,we hear that she was from the same people but those surrounding southern Tigray,do not take me wrong only religious difference and the reason was they were by the see, thank you.

  21. @T.gebregzi
You mean to tell me they are( the Afar people are Tigres)the only difference is the Afar are Muslims and the people of southern Tigray are Christians but Afar by blood,is that what you are trying tell me?
in other word like people of WOLKIT they speak Tigrenia there for they are Tigres even though they are Amaharas is that the logic your trying to get across Mr.Gebregzi?cos i rely don’t understand you?

  22. A reply to the Ethiopian, first you asked me,are not Afars Ethiopians,I only tryed to tell you that we are related,we have been living together, from Berahle and the surrounding come to Mekelle for their Marketing and the christians from endert especially go to Berahle to get salt,I do not understand what gain you get by dividing or undermining people,I have respect for the people of WElkait and Irespect their pleit,we have always respected neibours,do not try to confront me with the politics of today, many Ethiopians respect the other as a christian,be it Oromo,Amhara or Tigray and the others are our friends and brothers not our boos any body for that matter, you are trying to tell us the people now in power are the reflection of the tigrean society, you are mistaken as there are enough Amhara and Oromos fighting these corrupt regiem, there are also enough Tigreans that are a terrible night mare to the traitors of once own land, this is my last comment nothing can give me true satisfaction other than the holy bible,I love every Ethiopian,I wish you God’s blessing from the bottom of my heart.

  23. Reply to the Ethiopian,I have tryed to tell you above not to take me wrong i.e.of christian chuvenism and now you seem to try to say or put some or the other as superiours than us Tigreans or some thing as an un wanted,I do not know who you are, even if I can guess you are not honest Ethiopian,I was born in Mekelle and grew in the selected place where most of us are priestly family,I went to school in the 1950s The legendery South Afrcan national leader Nelson Mandela have spoken in our school in1961,I thank leul ras Mengesha for this, as a new governer of Tigray after the death of his father half a year earlier, when he came back to Mekelle for the second time, he brought Nelson Mandela with him, here I want to say some thing, the beloved political activist Yilma Bekele wrote in one of his wonderful articles who ever he may be Ethiopia under emperor Haileslassie have helped Africans to achieve their freedom, now back to you I did not mean to be harsh but use your emagination and togethernow is another time and the only thing to be proud of is unity and respect,Ethiopianity is respect, when I hear greater Tigray by any body,I hate it,like I wrote above I am not trying to compare my self with such but there are also people like the two professores, one God bless his saul, the late prof.Asrat and the other prof.Getachew Haile and I believe there are such people from every nationality,I have in my file’Haialan yetsefalu, very beautiful, proud of my oryodox roots.

  24. Again a reply to the Ethiopian, first in my comment above, sorry for spelling and some writing mistakes bot try always to understand people in a possitive way, some body above by the name Shitaye know as much as all of us the political situation in Ethiopiais so bud that send innocent and good Ethiopians to prison, yet through their writng, they give hope to show that there is still hope for future Ethiopia,so let us not argue,I my self believe doing what you can and prayer is important and we do not need to go far,it is here with us ,the bible and the spirit of the almighty, based on this I respect and love every body including you the Ethiopian,it is greed that take people to un necessary war,Meles and the T.P.L.F.started their divide and rule policy while they were in Tigray,no body can tell us in a clearer way other than ato Gebremedhin Araya, the Germens and Italians has fallen also under such brutal propogandists,I will not go back to the childish qestion if the Afar was not Ethiopian, the history of Ethiopia was always struggle even among the people in the middle,I am not a philosopher or some body who knows all,all I know is I had friends from all over the country who I respect more than my self for what they have done to me as a friend, there are many Amharans I admire for their truethfullness that my being a Tigrean comes second, thank you.
