The dictatorship in Ethiopia must be held accountable for its atrocities against Ethiopian Muslims

On Friday, July 13, Meles Zenawi’s dictatorship in Ethiopia launched a bloody crackdown against peaceful Muslim worshippers who gathered at Awolia Mosque in Addis Ababa. The security forces opened fire on the unarmed Muslims causing a large number of casualties.

The Ethiopian National Transitional Council (ENTC) considers Meles regime’s violent action against Ethiopian Muslims as a state sponsored terrorism, and calls on the international community to take urgent action to stop further violence. The Meles regime must also be held accountable for the unnecessary bloodshed that it has caused.

The ENTC calls on the people of Ethiopia to stand united and defend each other. We can stop the Meles regime’s atrocities and injustice only when we unite and fight back.

The ENTC calls on the international media to lift its news blackout on the continued atrocities in Ethiopia in the hands of Meles Zenawi’s brutal dictatorship.

The ENTC calls on international human rights organizations and the United Nations to come to the aid of the Ethiopian Muslim civilians who have been victimized by the Meles regime’s inhuman, irresponsible and excessive use of force.

    It is so easy but also unreasonable to call the students of Addis Ababa University cowards while you are writing from wherever you are, pesumably, comfortable outside Ethiopia. They have sacrificed a lot in the past, including with their lives. I have a suggestion for you, why don’t you do your part and not judge others for not doing what you deem must be done. Why don’t you go back to Ethiopia and join your brothers and sisters who are waging an armed struggle? You would not like it if I think it is because your are a coward, do you?

    The woyanies are very repressive regime but this is not a massacre. So far, there is only one person who was dead. This has been confirmed by Bloomberg international news.
    In the last Ethiopian election more than 200 Ethiopians were killed that was a massacre but not this one.

    In the last fifty years Islam has nothing new productive to show. It is all wars and destruction. There is no single moslem nation at peace with itself, even Turkey is at war with the Khurds.
    Every moslem is not running for refuge to Egypt, Saudi Mecca, Kuwait or Moroco … Moslems are running away to the christian west such as America, France, Sweden … Canada because there is no peace in Islam.

    It is all death and destruction. Sudan, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq …… Syria …

    Meles was warned, he is in hell hole now. Alamoudi trapped him. Alamoudi brought the Wahabis, so that he gets a reward of 72 virgins in the land of milk and honey.

    Advise to Ethiopian government:

    1. If Mosque or church is to be a source of violence, then you have to close the mosque or church. Church or mosque is to praise God only not to ochestrate violence, bloodshed. If our church or our mosque are to be used as source of violence, this has nothig to do with God than with evil.I condemn the Wahabism, and I ask muslim Ethiopian thier culture, their Ethiopianness,otherwise, they have to face the law in its stricts terms.

    2. There is no country that allows anarch, violence,blood-shed or terror, intimidation , lawlessness in any form. If you Allah is God, then you have to stay away from violence and lawlessness.

    3. You are using your mosque as shield to forement lawlessness; you are abusing your faith for hidden objective.

    4. We told the regime long ago, allowing Arab to hold land, property,… in Ethiopia is to allow devil to rule Ethiopia.

    5. Our muslim are ignorant they do not know the hidden agenda of islam; they are falling victims of the selfish Arabs.

    6. Arab Muslims are a threat to world peace, not to Ethiopians peace. This is not a joke. The regime has been warned in the past 20 years, due to the stupid, obstinate, … nature the regime, by refusing to listen to early warning, now the Arabs are inside the country doing thier dirty job. Poor Ethiopians are now their easy prey. Arab Wahabism is a predator on humanity.

    7. ENTC, we condemn you in all terms; we had hope you will come clean of meddling in dirty way, you have shown your true colour today. You are opportunity clearly.     In case you are not totally blinded by selfish tribalism, I have this to say to you. Ethiopia has been in anarchy for the last 21 years. Your lawless bandit brothers have not been ruling Ethiopia because the Ethiopian people elected them. They are the reason for all political violence, both visible and hidden, committed in Ethiopia for the past 21 years. The Muslims in the Awolia mosque were preparing a peaceful protest. Your “government” not the Muslims caused the anarchy/violence. Nor did any Muslim or Arab outside the country caused this incident. The best advice I suggest to your government is to give power back to the people of Ethiopia, like the government of Ben Ali of Tunisia. The other option is to be wiped out by force like selfish and stupid Gaddafi, sooner or later.

    To supporters of the oppressed people of Ethiopia in the diaspora:

    Let’s not expect ENTC or our political organizations to bring freedom to Ethiopia alone. Let’s do our part. Let’s organize support committees in our respective cities and towns. We can contribute ideas and money to help our people. Let’s learn from countries like Libya and Syria to anticipate what is to follow. Our will be very bloody. Let’s also appeal to the countries that have been financing TPLF to stop helping it. Our people are calling for help. Whom are they calling? They are calling people like you and me. Let stand with them.

    Gragn, I have to be honest and tell the truth. I will not allow to do Christians the same. I am not perfect; do not consider me as if I am ideal, but most of the things I mean negativity about Islam is my expereince outside Ethiopia and the things I have learnt by studying Islam, Judiasm, Christianity. Gragn, you may not believe me, the Muslim in the place I grew up in Ethiopia, they hate violence; they do not even look at you. They are the humblest people in my life and I cannot even believe those people share faith with Arabs. It is them who made me me fall in love with Islam during my child childhood, but Islam outside Ethiopia disappointed me very much. Gragn, you really have to see Islam from outside, not from Ethiopia.

    My message is obey the law of the land; do not misuse the mosqued to manipulate the Ethiiopian law. The Ethiopian law must be above the law in the mosque and the law in the church. If we want to accommodate each other, the constitution has to be above the religious law. Otherwise, if the constitution is to be manipulated by one religion,or islam, then there would not be rights to protect because the heavy Islam law will be beheading our people for having sex or stealing little things.

    I love all human regardless colour, race, religion, ethnic, creed, tribe, nationality, region, … including Arabs. I do not hate Arab as human, I hate their barbaric religious system only. My Arab girl friends are my living witness Arab Islam is not fair to human. Why would an Arab woman tell me her people are primitive? If our muslim brothers and sisters have problems about religion it should be done in a civilazed way, not with violence. We have been told time and again that islam is not violent. But we have seen many bad things by the name of islam. I am afraid our ethiopian muslims are being used by some extrimistes to disrupt the country. Islam hade been in ethiopia for many years, but not violent until recently(the slaughter in jima..). We have to adhere to our old “ethiopian”islam. During last night discussion, one pro-government person threatened to “farm” the Mosque at Mercato, Enarsewalen. So, apparently Waldeba and houses that have been demolished and whose parcel of lands cleared under them were targets of deliberate and personal vendetta of TPLF. Several months ago here at Ethiopian Review, a livid Woeyane venting, enumerated about ten of TPLF actions they could take to incapacitate Amharas and other opposition. What is the practical added value ENTC brings to the Freedom Table? Nothing moves until something happens. Suggest practical action to add to our movenent every where.     Please again calm down. If you want to have your girl friends, if you want to drink tella or alcohol like a fish no one is going to prevent you from doing so. But you have to respect other people’s worry that they don’t want to drink, fornicate, and seclude themselves with hijab and don’t want to eat or associate with you. You may have had a different experience back home, but you are now seeing a different experience. This conflict is real or may be real but as Education says this is another form of learning. You can not simply attack or hate Islam from hate point of you. As you rightly said there are good Muslims in Ethiopia but then you call their religion backward. That shows your ability to not be careful to choose words. U also live in West and I have to tell you that Turkey are not the same. Or Malaysia or Morrocoo or Libyans are not the same. Your girl friend was not supposed to have a boy friend as a good Muslim and she may not be a good sample to talk about to. What worries you my friend is having girl friend or free sex. However, for others what worries them is raising good kids, having good families, etc.. I feel sorry with your education you still are behind in having families and having a girl friend at this age is rather very disappointing. West has good things but as far as raising families I must tell the truth it s fragile and dangerous.
