Former Miss Ethiopia completes Marine Corps Marathon

November 1st, 2008 |  |  2 Comments

WASHINGTON DC – An Ethiopian runner is expected to finish a marathon among the top athletes but at last Sunday’s Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC, Jiitu Abraham of Ethiopia finished the 42 kilometers run in 6 hours 13 minutes.

Jiitu is no ordinary runner. She is a former Miss Ethiopia (2005) beauty queen and a model for Revlon. In 2007 she also ran the marathon and finished in 6 hours flat.

The 27-year-old Jitu had signed a contract with Revlon in 2003 to appear in a national print campaign for the company’s black haircare product, African Pride.
