    Menelik,
May your soul rest in Peace! You deserve it. Your last ‘Gashe Jemere’ CD, especially the song about the loss of all the youth in unnecessary fratricidal wars and the Derg’s ‘Qey Shibir’ will always be remembered as a the song that honored the ‘past generation’.
Thanks for all the good songs, lyrics, anmd melodies you produced!

The song SELEWEBETWA SADENK was the most beautiful song I have ever heard. It will be played at my wedding and I will always remember the source of this great song. A wonderful artist whom I had a chance to see at the Addis Ababa airport but did not have the courage to go say hi. I wish I did!

Menlik was a great man and a wonderful singer with his own unique style. He was the only courageous individual who commemorates in a song ‘ANCHI YEDEM GODANA’,the victins of Derg’s ‘RED TERROR’. R.I.P. Menilik.

I never met Menelik Wossenachew, but I heared that he had lived In Khartoum and Cairo where he established musical bands and performed music during the military dictatorship in our homeland.
As a lover of music I used to listen frequently to all his music. Bot I love “Fikrish Ayaregim” most.It is his masterpiece.

His dancing style even at his senior age was attractive.Because of his death, though natural, we lost one of our modernizers of our music and best entertainers of his time. May God rest his soul!
