Ethiopian Review continues to rank #1

December 30th, 2008 |  |  10 Comments

By Teddy Abebe

Using two of the best website ranking systems, Alexa and Quantcast, below are the Top 10 Ethiopian News websites.

Some Ethiopian websites under perform when the “repeated” visits are devalued from the ranking and “Unique users” are counted in order to analyze the number of people the websites reach instead of using the number of times a single person might visit a website repeatedly.

There are millions of websites on the internet so the percentage below shows how many people out of the world visited the websites this week. The higher the global percentage, the higher the ranking. Even though the ranking engines show global percentage, they can be proportionally used to observe a higher percentage of the Ethiopian public as well as visits of people from neighboring Somalia, Eritrea and Kenya.

This year’s top Ethiopian News Websites is Ethiopian Review.com

The Top 10 are:

1. ethiopianreview.com .0015%
2. ethiomedia.com .0013%
3. ethiopiazare.com .00058%
4. ethioforum.com .00055%
5. addisfortune.com .0005%
6. abugidainfo.com .00049%
7. jimmatimes.com .00035%
8. abbaymedia.com .00033%
9. addisvoice.com .0003%
10. capital Ethiopia .00012%

Elias, it is said the truth shall set you free. You are a good example. ER is the only media that has the courage to shine the light of truth on Ethiopia’s messy politics. Keep exposing the liars, sellouts and thieves.

nice rankings. they are all good websites.
i heard nazret.com is complaining about the ranking but i don’t think more visitors go there than to ER because only the same few people visit nazret repeatedly to chat with comments. ER and ethiomedia however have a lot of people visiting.
