Well, good for you Tamirat but where is the confession? what did you tell God? did you tell him you were the right hand of the mass murderer Meles? Did you tell him what you did to the Ethiopian People? if it is a true repentance confirm what we know already which is your roll in the present government. then may be then we will forgive you. One thing that you need to know is Jesus is like Us. Do not think you can say one thing and do something else because he is watching all your moves. he sees what is your heart before you even say or do it. Mr. tamirat has made repentance. I personally belive that Beliving in God or Alah is a good thing. because what has happened in the last 18 years has been done by a group of gangs who called themselves "communists". this gay was also a product and an arcithect of that tyranny group. so, if he repents that considering himself in the past as a communist was wrong, I think it is a nice progress. However, as an ethiopian his repentance is not satisfacory for the wrong did against his fellow men. because, Firstly, mr. ex prime minister vedio record still show that what worried him much is his deniel of God and the repentance that he did is for the salivation of his soul.I belive that this is his personal issue. whether he belived in God or not that is his and his case only. seconly, as he stated in his ex media, he accepted that he has commited corruption. as the govenment stated and he has accepted he put his moeny in foreign banks. Personally, I belive that this money is nothing but the properity of we poor ethiopians so that if he do not reject the alleged charge of corruption pointed on him in the past, he has to returne it to its owner. i.e the ethiopians.
therefore, unless he vividly and unequivocally ask pardon the people of ethiopia on these matters, the repentance that he has done on this vedio will not be more than any ordinary christian't life after death claim(repentance). this repent is done for his personal soul redemption or salivation. But as an ex ethiopian prime minister he has both a moral responsiblity to ask excuse his people. that is the only way that he can get pardon from his people. as for me his repent will get a place only and only if he repents his wrong deeds that he has commited on his sisters, brothers, fathers and mothers. that is the only way to renew his relation with his people and a means to get pardon from his society. This is the only way to reach both to your people and God.
may God give you the courage to ask pardon your people too.

Here in USA Black American Christians were considered as non humans and as recent as in the 1960 they were worshiping separately. Even now blacks and whites mostly worship in segregated churches.
Many black Americans also converted to Islam as sign of protest for white christian racist estabilishment. The Greatest Mohammed Ali/Caseus Clai conversion is a living testimony to that. Many young blacks converted to Islam in jail.

It wasn't long ago that we heard Mengistu H/Mariam become Pente in Zimbabwe and now we hear this? It looks like Pente sect become a place for criminals to run away from their Evil mind once their luxury is taken away from them.
This is farce. This is not the way christians repent in the bible. Saint paul denounced his old way of killing people by stones. He testified that he took part on the stoning of saint stevens (Stifanos) and many other wrong doing. Saint paul was fearless when he found truth, which is Jesus Christ. This ex-prime minister is not confessing here. He is just running from whatever evil he commited just like kyle (Qayil) lacked peace after killing his brother Abel.
If tamrat is truely repenting, he should dare denounce his wrong doing in the past and denounce the people who are commiting the attrocities till now. But he is not going to do that. he is too scared of Meles. After all, this guy never had the respect of core TPLF people from day one. He was just licking their boot. This is an example on how we as society, especially the so-called “educated elites” gave up our pride and dignity. We start believing that everything of the west is right and superior while everything of ours including our religion is wrong and inferior. This is the result of “western-education.” This is national betrayal in its highest form. መሬቶቹን ለማስረከብ ፈቃደኛ ባለመሆናቸው ጦርነት እናነሳለን፤ ብለው ሲነግሩኝ በነገሩ ደንግጩ
ከአስመራ መልስ መለስን እንዴት እኛ ብአዴኖች ይሄ ነገር ይደበቀናል? እንደትግል አጋር አብረን ሆነን

ይህንን በይፋ በፍርድ ቤት ውስጥ የተናገረ ቢሆንም ዛሬ "የኢትዮ-ኤርትራ ጉዳይ ፍጻሜው ይህ ይሆናል
ብዬ አላሰብኩም ነበር። አሁንም ጉዳዩ በሰላም ይፈታ።" ብሏል::
የተለያዩ የትግል አጋሮቻቸው እንደሚመሰክ ሩት ታምራት እና መለስ የነበራቸው ፍቅር ሱሪ
እስከመለካካት ይደርስ ነበር:: ሆኖም ታምራት በሙስና ወንጀል ተከሶ እስር ቤት ከገባ በሗላ መለስ
እንዳታለለው ተናግሯል:: ዛሬ አቶ ታምራት እንዳይናገር አፉ ይለጎም እንጂ በፍርድ ቤት ላይ "እኔ

ሰው ድርጅትህን አድን ምን እንደሆነ ይገባዋል:: ድርጅትህን አድን ከተባልክ እንደ አንድ ታጋይ በተቀበረ
ቦንብ ላይ ሁሉ ልትሄድ ትችላለህ ያለው ታምራት በወቅቱ የተከሰተውም ይህ ነው:: ይህን አላደርግም
ስልም አቶ ክንፈ፣ አቶ ተፈራ ዋልዋና ጄ/ል ጻድቃን ገብረ ተንሳኤ ካላመንክ ልጆችህን ዳግመኛ
አታያቸውም ብለው ቤቴ ድረስ መጥተው ስላስፈራሩኝ ልጆቼ አንድ ነገር ከሚሆኑብኝ ብዬ በሕዝብ ፊት
እንደናገር ተደርጓል::" ብለው ነበር::
ታምራት እነመለስ ዜናዊና ቤተሰቦቻቸው በውጭ ሀገር የሀገሪቱን ሀብት እየመዘበሩ በርካታ ገንዘቦችን
እንዳስቀመጡ የተናገረውን ዛሬ ሊናገር አልቻለም:: ይህ የሆነበት ምክንያት ከእስር ከመፈታቱ አስቀድሞ
በተሰጠው ማስጠንቀቂያ ነው:: በአሁኑ ወቅት በስርአቱ ውስጥ ያለውን ችግር የታምራት መፈታት ችግር
ውስጥ ሊጥለው ይችላል የሚል ሀሳብ ያለው አቶ መለስ እንዳይፈታ በርካታ ሰንካላ ምክንያቶችን
ሲያቀርብ የነበረ ሲሆን በተለይ የብአዴን ሰዎች 'ታምራት ልክ እንደነ ስዬ አብርሀና ሌሎችም ተራ
እስረኞች የእስር ጊዜውን ከጨረሰ መፈታት አለበት" የሚል አቋም በመያዛቸው መለስ የግዱን ሳይጥመው
እንዲፈታ አድርጓል:: ያም ሆነ ይህ መለስ ዜናዊ ታምራትን ሁለት ጊዜ አሸንፎታል:: ዛሬ ውጥረት ውስጥ
ባለበት ወቅት ታምራት የተሰጠውን ማስፈራሪያ ተቀብሎ ቁጭ ማለቱና ከፖለቲካ ወጥቻለው ማለቱ
አንደኛው ሲሆን; ሁለተኛው በራሱ አንደበት ዘራፊ ነኝ ብሎ አስነግሮ እስር ቤት እንዲገባ ማድረጉ ነው::
እንደ አንዳንድ አስተያየት ሰጪዎች ግምት ታምራት በአሁኑ ወቅት ዝምታን የመረጠበት ምክንያት
ልጆቹን ወደ አሜሪካ መጥቶ እስከሚያገኛቸው ድረስ ነው:: አሁን 'ፖለቲካ በቃኝ እግዚአብሄርን ነው
የማገለግለው' የሚለው ታምራት ምናልባት አሜሪካ ከመጣ በሗላ "እግዚአብሄር ተመልሼ ወደ ፖለቲካው

Ato Seye is a "Hero" and Ato Tamrat is a "Villan".
Both men were comrades in arms and part of the EPRDF government. Both were put in prison by there fellow comrades. Ato Seye served a shorter prison term when compared to Ato Tamrat. Upon their release, one is greeted as a " hero "(i.e. Ato Seye)while AtoTamrat is being "stoned to death for his wrong doings.This calls for a close examination of what is driving all this hatred against Ato Tamrat? As a Christian my answer is short and sweet. SATAN IS MAD. As a rational human being my second observation is that the "zealots" have once again taken over. Since mentioning God in our politics is now deemed to be acceptable and because Ato Tamrat has now pledged his allegiance to Christ, people are ridiculing the SAVIORS WONDERFUL WORK of REDEMPTION to discredit the sinner. This shows that we are on a VERY SLIPPERY SLOPE. With out knowing the bible or the history of christianity, cavalier statements are being made that only reveal a very deep lack of knowledge. As the Apostle Paul said in Romans 10:2 " BEWKET AYEKNU ENGI LEGZIABEHERE ENDIKENU EMESEKERELACHEWALEW". Zeal be it for self, family , country or even God has to be based on knowledge. The Sons and Daughters of Ethiopia are lifting their hands to their God as foretold in Psalms 68:31. Those lifted hands, praying for personal and collective forgiveness , will unlock the heavenly blessings. Brother Tamrat has joined that camp. Tamirat was always immature in mind while we were in the field. In fact, he got the position as EPDM charman not because of his ideological or millitary expertise, but it was because of loyality. Tamerat you have the right to follow any religion, but you didnt have the right to kill innocent civilians that you did back 17 years ago at Harar region, which I lost some of my relatives due to conflict inciated by some Oromo ethinic people and Amahara ethinic people.
So regardless of your releigion, you should face justice when justice comes to ethiopia. In addition to that as a religion person that accepts Jesus as a guidance for your life, how come you have failed to ask an appology, and to ask mercy once the almighty God, and for the entire ethiopian people as well.

Some of the comments from a few religious freaks are grossly misplaced. No one is questioning Tamrat's right to join any religious faith he chooses. We care less what his faith or personal life is going to be.
What we are talking about is his crimes against Ethiopians while in power. Only when he repents for those crimes and the misguided actions he espoused should we accept him as true confession and repentance. Weak and corrupted mind always use religion for anything they want to achieve. It is not a new tactic for politicians to use a religion for their personal ego. The terrorists use Islam, American conservatives use Evangelical christianism for thier evil agenda and now criminal politcians use Pente to escape from the harrowing ordeal they created on the innocents.
Tamrat is not the first one to seek refugee in the Pente belief. Most of the Derg killers are now Pente because the torment they created among the majority (Orthodox christians & Islam) Ethiopians is inspeackable. I was surprised my comment did not appear or deleted. I would like to believe that all ER moderators are anti Weyane/TPLF and not sympathizers. Earlier today i wrote a comment highlighting that Tamrat's faith is not the issue, but his repentance for his crimes. As no one cares about his personal choice of a faith. I also commented on Anonymous #47's comment mainly highlighting that TPLF/Weyane will one day pay for its crimes unless it repents and join the majority of Ethiopians. Is there anything wrong with that or I am missing something?
I don't care whether you post or delete this comment, but the fact remains that Weyane/TPLF will definitely pay for the crimes it committed!!!

I don't know much about the guy nor what he did. As a christian, I forgive those who repented and ask forgiveness.
Anyway, I am happy for him. He has found something that nobody can take away from him and something that will give him peace.

Most of Pentecostal followers especially Ethiopians do not have the knoledge when Pentecostalism began. They do not know it. The Pentecostal religion was started in the 16th century by a German Catholic monk whose name is Martin luther then it spread like a wildfire most of the people have no education in History so do not question they just follow blindly and most of the people who join this religion have a personal problem like Tamirat for that matter who knows Meles might join him too. Many of today's pastors of Pentecostal religion especially Ethiopians are recruted by aid or donation either they were in different bad situations like immigration in Sudan or Kenya etc. or some of them were jelled during the red and white terror time then they join the Pentecostal religion as shelter and act just Tamirat Layne.

The Pente religous sect or cult attracts people who found it difficult to live amongst society. the entire pente believers have common traits in their past. Most of them are societies rejects due to their unwanted behaviour in a normal society. such behaviors are alcholism, drug addiction, being Thief, murderers etc. These individuals find it difficult to live amongst a healthy society because many people reject them. The issue here is not about being protestant or orthodox. These are man made religious institutions which base them selves on the Bible. Therefore, the issue is about what exactly the bible talk about people like Tame does. I know, if Tame was converted to Islam or some thing else no one here have said any thing.
The Bible said in Rome 3.23 that “since all have sinned and continue to fall short of God's glory”. You see, we all are sinners. This is # one truth for all of us who clam to be Christians. And the only way, as the bible said to get cleaned out is through repentance. And Tamirat has repented in front of all the people and than any thing in front of the almighty GOD. Period! Who are you to judge? ARE YOU GOD? What really surprise me here is that those of you who claim to be orthodox denounce this. Did not your bible talk about forgiveness? Did not what you pray every morning and night “Please forgive us, as we forgive others” witness that. Who have placed as in God’s position to judge? The bible says “those who judge will be judged”.

Tamirat I have a due respect for anyone who puts his faith on God. But let me tell u my history. You came to Asebe teferi and preached the gosple of hatread "amhara has been to ur land and slavering u guys…. u should do something to get them out of ur land….". At that time i was a student in jimma institute of health sciences(the now jimma university).
when i go back home on my vacation, i found no one at home,NO ONE.No even from my relatives….all were slaughtered and thrown. I have not exagerated. Am really disappointed because ur repentance did not considerpeople like me

The recently released former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Tamerat Layne, stated his disdain for politics as he spoke in front of a packed Ethiopian evangelical church, according to a Jimma Times correspondent in Addis Ababa.
Former PM Tamerat was released this week after he spent 12 years in prison for charges of corruption and abuse of power. The release of Tamerat has captured the attention of many Ethiopians, especially in the capital city Addis Ababa.
According to another JT correspondent, the former prime minister allegedly attended the Mulu Wongel mega church in the capital city surrounded by numerous pastors who gave him time to speak for several minutes in front of over 10 thousand members. He gave accounts of his long “humbling” prison time and stated that he became “born again” Christian after a woman inside the prison preached to him. A soft spoken Tamerat allegedly showed no resentment and described his interest to be involved in the evangelical churches.
The Ethiopian evangelical population has grown significantly during the last 25 years and the recent national census indicated that over 18 percent of Ethiopia’s 76.9 million population is Protestant Christian. This growth has reduced the traditional dominant Orthodox Church from over 50 percent to 43.5 percent of the country.
Some Ethiopians in the capital believe that Tamerat Layne’s release was timely for the government to divert the attention of the population who have been protesting and angered by the 6-year prison sentencing of famous musician Teddy Afro. They believe the sentencing of pop star Teddy Afro (real name Tewodros Kasahun) was politically motivated due to the musician's anti-government songs. Various opposition officials also believe the incarceration of ex-PM Tamerat was not due to corruption as stated, but as a result of power struggle inside the ruling party.

Repentence 101 for all the foolish pente's out there. Read this bible verse

Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much." According to the above verse, Tamrat need to give all the money he has stolen to the poor similar to Zaccheus.

How about the millions of dollars he emblazed for his personal lavish life style and his family. how about the money he transfered to swiss banks?
My Pente brothers and Sisters, please use the wisdom God has given you. Please don't be fooled by cunny and twisted individuals. Read the Bible thoroughly and understand what repentence means. Repentance is beyond declaring "Jesus is the Lord" Even the devil can testify that Jesus is the Lord. Be practical, no more theater. Tamrat's choice of being pente is not a miracle as you thought. your weak mind is threaked by this individual who knows how to live in this world. What a powerful repentance! I think, the topic has become among topics with the top record of comments I have ever come across on this site.
We like it or not, the history of Ethiopia is a story of bloodsheds. Most of us are opening our mouth here thinking that our sins can not be traced or that our sins are not as big as that of Tamirat. If God had considered our daily sins the entire population of Ethiopia would have perished overnight. We all are alive because of the mercy of God.
We can not justify ourselves by making good description of Tamirats publicly known old way of life. Talking of the old Tamirat is just like talking of a dead person. Just like talking of the sins of Tewodros and Menilik. Rather Tamirat has done a great thing, he never claimed any thing he has done previously as correct. Using a general term he has said that he was lost. But, Tewodros, Minilik, Haileselasie and others have died being proud of their sins. That is the root of endless bloodshed in Ethiopia. Our previous kings ruled with bloodshed and we inherited a curse because of that. So, practicing confession and forgiveness is the only way out for Ethiopia from the effects of the curse we have inherited from our fore fathers.
We all need to repent. When a sinner (even though he was a killers) repent and ask for forgiveness, the affected must be prepared to forgive, so that our land can be healed. When a person who was a killer repents and become in peace with God, healing comes to our land.
If our motive is to punish sinners God will not be with us, and we will not succeed. But if our motive is to establish judgement and justice in Ethiopia God will stand with us. If our focus is in punishing our adversaries God will never give us power, but if our concern is justice to the oppressed, God will stand with us. Otherwise, the curse of blood shed will be transferred to the next generation.

the orthodox church. they think they are on the right track but they misleading people. They dont know the way. they teach people there are many ways trhough Angels and saints. To those of you bashing Tamrat or Pente – Look onto yourself before you judge others- that is the golden rule. Please differentiate between justice and repentance. He has spent years in prison of the corruption charges he has had. Jesus wants you just the way you are.

Look the so called “born Again Christian” trying to fool us once again. Listen Ato Tamerat good for you that you have found Jesus in Prison, but the real Repent and confession has to happen to the mass of Ethiopian people. As a convicted felon you should say sorry to the Ethiopian people properly. To me this Crocodile tears is like a PR stunt. Don’t think today you are hiding behind the church that you are safe and you can hide your misdeeds that easily.
Today you may fool the congregation of one of your church, but believe in me you cannot fool Ethiopians as a whole. I am tired of listening to the so called Born again in what ever case, what goes around comes around. Be sure “if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime”. May be you have done the time, but your crime is only forgiven in my eyes if you mean to repent to the poor Ethiopians that you have failed and betrayed. Even then I doubt it will be that easy.

let us think our past history,the miserable things, that was done by Haile Silasse regime in Oromo, in south Ethiopia and other part of Ethiopia and Ethiopians despite all Haile Silas Cabinet were Orthodox church leaders.They had destroyed the culture,religion and properties of the rest Ethiopians except Amahara.
Orthodox religion is not the religion of Somale,Afar, Oromo ,Hadiya ,Gurage…and other Ethiopians,it is difficult for you to accept the reality.

Because of Protestantism, European countries fought wars with severe bloodshed in the 16th and 17th centuries.History remembers it.Now in the world,bloodshed wars are led and sponsored by protestants not Ethiopian Orthodox Church,you can look.Ethiopian Orthodox Church saved Ethiopia from Protestant Colonialists in the 19th and 20th centuries,Ok.This Church has given education,administration,historical heritages,generally history of Ethiopia.Now in Ethiopia follows "Divide and Rule" policy to destroy the identities Ethiopia but Ethiopian Orthodox Church struggles to save them.Protestants divide the people using false bible interpretations.They are anti-unity,they are bandas(representatives) of European neo colonialist protestants.We all Ethiopians have to fight them.They catch bible like the Missionaries of 18th and 19th centuries who played a big role for the scramble of Africa , again today they also anti-Ethiopians and anti -Africans.

Please, read the bible well. Zecchaeus was forgiven because of his faith not because of his decision to return what he has taken from others. The bible says "Jesus looked up Zacchaeus and called him by name", while he was on the tree, and said "Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today" then "Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy".
Note that Zacchaeus was saved because of his faith, which was demonstrated by his climbing the tree to see the famous Jesus. Thus, his promise to return what he has got through misappropriation was the fruit of his being delivered from his previous messy life. It was the result of his decision to receive Jesus into his life.
In addition, remember that when he promised to compensate, those who were affected by his misbehaviour did not line up to claim their compensation. So, it is not appropriate for us to line up on the gate of Tamirat claiming compensation.
Moreover, Zacchaeus' confession was made before the Lord, not before the people. How he fulfils his promise to compensate in the way acceptable to God was an issue only between Zecchaeus and God alone. Same way, Tamirat has finished his confession before the Lord. We can not require Tamirat to stand before each of us and confess what he has done to each of us.
The indescribable mercy of God is that, afterwards, Tamirat is taken care of by Jesus; and Jesus the son of God is responsible for Tamirat. What ever claim you have against Tamirat you can ask Jesus, and, believe me, you will get the right response that makes you happy, healed and saved. The blood of Jesus that was paid as a ransom for the sins of Tamirat is incomparable to whatever we want to claim from him. Otherwise, if you want to get your compensation from Tamirat in your own way you will suffer more because of your own negative thoughts and feelings against the already saved Tamirat than what actually he did to you.
Robel and Zenash, Jesus of Zecchaeus and Tamirat is calling you by name. He wants to be a guest in your heart, bringing true salvation, peace and forgiveness into your life. Please, forget about Tamirat's sin, which is already washed away from his life. Better you receive Jesus for yourself.

I have blogged on this web from Addis Ababa by braking the blockage, Surprisingly I have not seen/read this kind heart breaking testimony from our leaders in our history…(rather we read fukera by killing each other one another) this is typical of ethiopian's. This name by itself is the very problem i think or the teff we grow eating. which will make us unique in unforgiving, full of hetard, full of jellous, full of pride (when even we are hungry) though we are seen in church on sundays covering our shame with white cloth, to look relegious. Is this characters orthodox doctorine? I will be forced to conclude this because the majority of ethiopians are chatagorised in this dinomination. In addition the above blogers all/most of all are characterised by the above characters it is because they are called ethiopians or they have grown eating teff eventhough the are out there.
one thing we need to be responsible for ower real problem. Think if by chance one or some of the above blogers are given the power what they will turn the country to. By hatered and spirit of enamity we will not reach any where, by forgiving and forgeting we can give ower childeren and better life. let us all pray that this culture/identity will be changed and let us work against it, unless we do our childerns will live the shameful life that we are living today.

To those of you who are very angry and against Tamerat's decision, I would like to say something:
Is there anyone from human being without sin? I want everyone of you to ask yourself no matter how it seems big or small – by the way there is no so called big or small sin. Sin is a sin!!
Regardless of what someone did in his past, God is ready to save anyone through his son – Jesus Christ – the only way to life – eternal life. I belive and the word of God says that to those of you who believes in his son, he will be given eternal life but to those who doesn't want to believe, the hardens their heart as stones so that they will not inherit God's promises. What I advise you my brothers and sisters, it is wise to read what the bible says because that matters most in our lives rather than anything in this world! Having Jesus Christ is the greatest decision on can make. Those who has Jesus in his/her life has everything – everlasting life. The bible says those who do not have Christ are not saved and will not have everlasting life. God is always ready to those who has soft heart and ask him to reveal the truth so that he will reveal. One should make himself/herself very low to help God work in his life. God always needs ready heart. God is the judge not human being. I just wonder if God is like us, we all perished. But God is forgiving and his judgement is always correct.
What many people missed here is, it is not the question of politics here. It is not the people of Ethiopia who gives forgiveness but God. So Tamerat finished with almighty God who knows all. So please soften your heart and get saved by Jesus because there is nothing more important to human being than this. The greatest gift of all! May God help to those of you who don't know him yet.

Why do you have to twist the word of God. You are saying that Zacheaus's pledge to give back whatever he had stolen from the poor didn't count. That is a complete nonesense and typical of Pente style preaching. And also i was amazed on why you left the verse that says :

You are saying Zaccaeus was saved only because he jump on the tree to see Jesus Christ as he was short. But the fact of the matter is Zacchaeus was touched by the Teaching of Jesus and had already decided his old way of collecting money from the poor was cruel. Jesus had noticed the heart of Zacchaeus was ready for repentance and approached him so that he can have dinner with him eventually giving salivation to that poor soul.
The scripture is full of texts that says a lot of people flocked to see Jesus and to hear his teachings. And Zacaeus was picked out of many not because he made an effort to see Jesus, but his soul was ready to give back whatever he had stolen from people.
I advise my Pente brother/sister to understand the scripture clearly than use your own interpration and confuse other people. I am not here to interfare in God's way of giving salivation to Tamrat. I am saying here that Tamrat is not the person to be trusted. And the bible way of repentance is different from what we see in this video or what many Pente people want to tell us. What we saw is a person moving from a blief in communism to Pente (Mulu Wongel/ full Gospel).
In addition to that it is an open fact that there is a wide dissagreement in protestant believers. to mention some Mulu Wongel, Meserete Kiristos, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, Adventist etc…the numbers go on and on in which all this believers do not agree with each other on the interpretation of the scripture. I appreciate your invitation to me to your belief but i say thank you because i value the belief that i was thought from my father and mother and generations before to have a clear teaching unbiased of emotions and theaters. When i go to my church, i don't go to collect food, job, sexual partner, or to relief from boredom. The director then announced ‘You will not have geography class today as unfortunately your teacher has been involved in a serious car accident’.
All the class stood & shouted with happiness & joy, not one of us realized what the director said at the end of the sentence which was ‘Your teacher has been involved in a serious car accident’ because the only thing was we wanted to hear was ‘You will not have geography class today’ the rest of the phrase did not concern us.
And now as some of you said ‘Tamrat was lier, sinner, murderer, shameless, Thief and so on, But the mercy God forgive Him & saved His life.
At least we were in elementary school, but I saw here most of us still in Elementary school, Looking only first sentence. Please read unto end and Needs to praise to Jesus name that peace and happiness that comes to Heaven when one’s life include no matter who he was.

Thank you for responding to my comment at # 147. What you have seen in the video is not repentance. Please, note that Tamirat did his repentance to turn to God from his sinful life 7 years ago. What you see in the video is part of the testimony of the already converted Tamirat. Whether you trust him or not, it doesn't matter. What is important is that Tamirat is accepted by God.
I didn't invite you to my religion my invitation is for you to receive Jesus who already has paid the necessary compensation for all the wrongs you have done, since birth. The blood of Jesus is the ransom for the sins of the entire world. Simply believing in the salvation already completed for us by Jesus is what is required to be saved.
Do you think you can remember each and every thing you have done in your life? Do you think it is possible for you to pay compensation for all the people you have hurt? No! Nobody can do that. Mr/Ms Anonymous. How can you sit on the back of your computer living far away from where I live and question whether I am saved or not. From your writing and many of my encounters I had with believers of the Pente sect, you guys are sure that the only way to Jesus is by being member of the pente congregation.
In the mind frame you have, the only way a human soul can be saved from his sin is by acting, talking, walking, crying and singing like a pente member does. If a good Christian doesn’t act like you, you automatically conclude that, this person haven’t accept Jesus as his personal savior which is a nice and fancy word you use for the person who is not Pente or Pentecostal believer.
Now do I have to act and talk, like you to be saved? Hell, no. I am well above that standard and clearly know how to be a good Christian. Not only that I do not put my self in place of Jesus and say Catholics, Lutherans etc will eventually go to hell. What saves you is what good you do in your life. It is not your membership to certain sect of Christianity. Saying that, I strongly denounce the fact that I hear and witness in Pentecostal churchs that insults God’s saints, his angels and our lady, the holy virgin mother Mary, the mother of my lord Jesus Christ. A good Christian would’t insult and belittle God’s servants. God raised them and that is why we venerate them.
For those false Christian teachers who made their business insulting the Angels and God’s saints, saint peter said this:
“Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; 11yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord.” 2 Peter 2:11
Not only saint Peter, saint Jude also wrote against those same people who took the interest of scolding and belittling the Angels as follows.
“But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Jude 1:9
The above biblical verses tells as a good Christian would not turn himself against the angels. The angels we sing for are the same angels who are always in dispute with the dark force for our well being.
So, my dear brother/sister anonymous, I know what the bible says and my religion very well. And I don’t buy your teaching that forces people to be insultive towards Angels, and saints upon which God’s grace and greatness is reflected. Surely, the pente sect is the same group of people, saint peter was referring to on 2 Peter 2:11.
Therefore I advice you to pray and search for the truth so that you can see the light and investigate the slanderous pente teaching in a way you never saw it before.

I never said this or that religious sect is the right way. I reiterate that the only way to the Kingdom of God is through Jesus, because the Lord Jesus Christ says:
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). The
And, the only way to Jesus is through hearing, and believing the word of the Good news about Jesus, which is in the bible. It is written:
"Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." (John 20:31).
The truth of the bible is very simple to understand. As you can see from the verse above, the only requirement to be saved is just to believe that Jesus Christ has paid the price necessary to redeem you from sin and death. Believing this requires you to acknowledge that you are a sinner and that you can not be saved by your good deeds. But, you said: "What saves you is what good you do in your life." This is contrary to the bible. You can not think of being saved by your good deeds and at the same time claim that you have received Jesus Christ as your savior. To cite more verse:
"None is righteous…together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight…. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe." (Romans 3: 10-22)
Whoever believes the good news about Jesus Christ decides to live in Christ and allows Christ to live in him/her. This marks the turning point, and because of the Sprit of Jesus, that dwells in the heart of the believer, he/she starts living a holly life, and continuously grows in doing good things that were not in his/her old nature. This is what I meant by being committed to Jesus Christ and having the Sprit of Christ in you. This signifies absolute transformation of life, such that one can sense the difference between a person living in Jesus and the one living according to the flesh.
I'm certainly sure that you can not cite any insult by the Pentes against the Angels, Virgin Marry or the saints. Let alone an insult, you can not cite any understanding about them that is contrary to the bible. However, it seems that you are destructed from the truth of the bible, and taken by 'alubalta', academic wisdom, and your own imagination. Please, try to open your heart and rely only on the truth in the bible.

What a Mercyful God!
I appreciate the contribution made by the editor for many of us to share our feelings, ideas and deep insights about Tamirat.
It's obvious to feel bad when we encounter things not the way we wanted them to happen. however, no one can reprove the power of love in forgiving and helping us live selfless and merciful life. Such life is beyond accepting those who have asked to be forgiven.
Let me share you two verses from the bible:
Proverbs 15:1 'A soft answer turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger' again Proverbs 29:5 'A man that flatter his neighbor spread a net for his feet'.
Please let us love each other and forgive those who are in need ('THEY THAT ARE WHOLE NEED NOT A PHYSICIAN; BUT THEY THAT ARE SICK'), so that we will be forgiven UNCONDITIONALLY on the day of the judgement(the day we stand before the Almighty God). Tamirat has made the right choice, repenting for all his past deeds and pressing on to inherit eternal life which is beyond imagination and feelings(emotions if you like). you know, hatred for acknowledging your sins to God is far more better than receiving mercy from millions of biased individuals. While many might curse you as a sinner but God forgives those who have broken heart!

Thank you for responding again. Even though you feel like fighting for your religion, it was not the case with me. The reason is that my God is Mighty and a living God. He never expects me to fight for Him or defend Him. My duty in this world is just to witness His love to the world.
All I have been trying to let you understand is the greatness of the Love and Mercy of God, which is revealed to us through Jesus Christ. At the end of this world everybody will be asked about what he/she has done with the love he gave us. What matters is weather you have accepted and lived by it or you have ignored it. A book of sin is not needed at that time. So, my Lord Jesus doesn't want me to keep a record of the sins of others, but to tell sinners about the saving Love and Mercy of God by which all records of our sins are written off.
Please, keeping records of others' sins and going after them is a very difficult, risky and unprofitable business. Instead, being a witness for the love of God is simpler, and it is rewarded in this and the coming world.

I read many of your comments. What a freedom,I said. I believe Ato Tamrat is a free person. He has served his sentence( 12yrs). Above all, I am so amazed so many of you commented on him negatively. You seem to be irrational and blinded by hate. He said he is saved by Jesus Christ from the tyranny of the devil's power( be it atheism,communism,idolatry,capitalism,or religion).

Repentance
What does repentance mean? The Greek in the the New Testament has a distinction between various levels of repentance that we should definitely care and be concerned about. There is the repentance where you realize what you did was wrong, but you don't seem to care that much about it. Then, there is the repentance where you see what you've done is wrong, change your heart, and do not do it again. The first falls into the category of "nice, but not good enough;" it's the second that is required.
Given that we have sinned against God, no matter whether it's also against someone else or not, we must repent to God, possibly in addition to the person we wronged as well. By the act of Jesus's dying on the cross, we have a way to do this– we can pray and talk to God directly.
There is also the person(s) we have sinned against. We have hurt them, even if they don't realize it, and so we should repent to them as well. Going to them and admitting your sin is a good first step. John the Baptist tells us in Matthew 3:8 to produce fruit in keeping with repentance; if we sincerely repent, we will behave differently. Who we are or how important we think we are makes no difference; we have to produce this fruit, as John commands in Luke 3:8. Repentance is a change of attitude and action, not just muttering, "Oh, I screwed up. God forgive me," and not restoring your harmed brother.
What is restoration? Something that depends on the sin committed, and what God convicts you to do. If you have stolen, giving it back would be a good start. Concerning sin that results in physical damage or loss, the Old Testament demands full restitution plus 20%, something which is a good model to start with. Yes, paying back all that extra hurts, but remember that you hurt the other first, and that the 20% is an added incentive not to sin in the first place.
Repentance, obviously, should be sincere and should be accompanied by actions that reflect a change of heart. It is not a trivial matter. The Bible does give a few examples of repenting to other people. The parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:21) is one example. David repenting to Nathan (II Samuel 12:13-15) is another example. Notice that since David sinned publicly, he paid for it publicly. As stated above, you must repent to God and whomever you have sinned against; sin publicly, you must repent publicly.
Once we have repented, we have the promise of forgiveness. 1 John states it quite well: 9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
Thus, by properly and in a timely manner dealing with our sins, we have the promise of total and permanent repentance. What a great thing.

I am a person with open mind and always interested to know what makes people tic specially about religion. Through the years I have met and have conversation with people from different backgrounds and religion—Christians—Orthodox, Catholics, Evangelical Christians—Baptists, Pentecostals, Seventh-Day Adventists, Johva witness, Muslims, Hindus, Sikh, Jews, Baha’i Faith, and some non believers. And I found out that no matter how religious they might be they are all the same. Just because one person run from one religion to another very seldom it changes their heart. If you meet a used car sales man from different background they are all the same…just looking out for themselves. There are bad and good people in every religion and non believers. In fact, in Rwanda one of the human slaughters was an Evangelical Christian pastor and his son. Instead of creating peace, these father and son team went on in killing spree.
It is obvious this man is a broken and angry man, but a change man…don’t let him fool you. I don’t hear him confessing his sins, giving back all the money he has taken and ask for forgiveness for the crimes he has committed on innocent people.

I am very much glad and agree to read most of the comments. Tamerat can follow any relgion, it is his perssonel issue. But I also jotted the issue of the Amhara ethnic group whom he massacured and hid responsiblity for the death of the late professor Asrat and the economic vulnerability of the Amhars' giving hand to the minority TPLF. Tamirat is responsible ands accounatable for the 30,000 Oromo in Nazi concenbtration camps from Mekele under groung to Zewayi and from Didhessa to Showa Robit. He ius responsible for the massacure of innocent Oromo and Oromo refugees. He is also responsible for the enemity he dispersed among the different ethnic groups in Ethiopia. The Amharas' like the Oromo suffered in the hands of Tamirat Layine and history judges him sooner or latter. He was working as the backbone of the TPLF wiht the so called OPDo and both his party and the teletafies as awhole are judged publicly.
Thank you for not posting. But, as an Ethiopian my vies shpould have been posted. I am Oromo and I am an Ethiopian. As an Oromo and an Ethiopian, my right needed to be respected and the posts need to be posted but the Ethiopian review writers deprived me of my right. Thank you.

Confess the atrocities you committed to millions poor Ethiopians for years!! Courageously take responsibility for being a prime instrument of evil and sustained destruction that has docked the country at this perilous end. Then repentance will be full.
Otherwise, the knowledge I have about you prompts me to think that you are now just taking a breath and sheltering yourself from the boggling mental assail until conditions ripen for you to mount the next episode of scandal and betrayal.

In my opinion tamerat leyne is a good exampel how god bring us out off trile and trubulation. His testemony has a lot to do with gods forgiveness and less of what man may think. god bless Ethiopia/Eritria. I love you all with no condition.

I have read many comments in here about Tamirat. Many of you don’t have the slightest clue of what it means to repent. Many of you in fact were salivating to hear an inside scoop from Tamirat about all the evil deeds he and Meles and Co have committed. You see that kind of appetite and spiritual matters have nothing in common. Some mentioned Paul confessed his participation in the murder of Stephen and others. But, that missed the context. Paul mentioned about that to argue his conversion, that is, to show to the people who doubted his conversion that he was once an enemy of Christ but now a servant of Him. You see Tamirat was not a persecutor of Jesus Christ and His followers. He was simply a sinner and enemy of God just like you and me. And, he said that many times.
Read the story of Barabbas and Jesus in the Gospel of Mathews Chapter 27:17. All of us including Tamirat are but Barabbas. Jesus died in the place of Barabbas, in the place of me, and you. So, we should all rejoice witnessing the power of God onto salvation. Some even wondered what if Meles come forward and accept Jesus Christ. I say Glory to God. In fact, it is my prayer and it should be yours too that even Meles receives salvation which is a free gift of God.
Our theme should be in the forgiveness of sins. John 8:1-11 and John 8:21-24. The message of forgiveness comes through very strongly in the story of the woman caught in. In this story, we have not only Jesus and the woman. We also have "the scribes and the Pharisees" (John 8:2). This is a story about (a) Jesus – the One who gives forgiveness; (b) the woman – the one who received forgiveness; (c) the scribes and the Pharisees -the people who refused forgiveness. Many of you, reading your comments, are like the scribes and the Pharisees. She would never forget the words which Jesus spoke to her: "Neither do I condemn you; go, and do not sin again" (John 8:11). In these words, Jesus speaks of the grace which forgives the sins of the past, the grace which lays claim to our lives in the future. Jesus stresses that those who have been forgiven by Him are to go on and live for Him. That and that is only Tamirat’s debt.
