The vice chairperson of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party (Kinijit) Bertukan Midekesa and a member of the executive committee, Ato Gizachew Shiferaw, an office staff member, Ato Alemayehu Yeneneh, were arrested this morning by the Wolyta Zone police as they were returning to Addis Ababa after attending a meeting with Kinijit supporters. Later on the day, the police released them. It is not clear yet why they were arrested… more details later. There will be a brief interview with a Kinijit official at 3:00 PM EST.
