From EPPF Chairman
On behalf of the Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front (EPPF), an organization that is fighting for freedom and democratic governance in Ethiopia, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to President-Elect Barack Obama for being elected the 44th President of the United State of America.
I would also like to congratulate and pay tribute to Senator John McCain for conducting a vigorous election campaign and for his message of unity after the people of the United States made their decision known.
Through this historic election, America once again has demonstrated that it is a true beacon of hope, inspiration and freedom.
EPPF would like to work closely with the Obama Administration to help bring peace, stability and development to Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa Region.
I urge the President-Elect to keep his promise NOT to provide support to brutal dictatorships around the world, such as the one we have in Ethiopia that has stolen the May 2005 elections and put in jail all leaders of the main opposition party.
