Lishan Akuma arraigned at a DC court

Kinijit supporter Lishan Akuma was arraigned at a Washington DC court today. Wzr. Lishan was arrested last month in front of the White House while protesting the sentencing of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party (Kinijit) leaders to life in prison by a kangaroo court in Ethiopia.

The police has charged Lishan with trespassing. She was released without bail after spending in jail  over night.

Lishan appeared in court this morning for arraignment where she pleeded ‘not guilty.’

The judge set the trial date for September 12.

Lishan told Ethiopian Review after the arraignment that she appreciates the moral support she is receiving from the Kinijit-DC chapter leadership and members, and the community, at large.
